"$2,250." You say bluntly. He raises an eyebrow slightly and after a second he speaks.
"Alright."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been far too long since you've felt actual peace of mind. The car ride home was way too long, and the silence, the not-so-sneaky side eyes, and annoyed sighs, really added that element of spice that you so desired for this "boring" night. It was clear that Oscar wanted you gone as soon as humanly possible, and frankly, you wanted to escape this horrifying situation as well. The entire drive back, you silently reprimanded yourself for screwing up so badly. What you did could almost be considered unforgivable, at least that's what it seemed like to you whenever your eyes had the misfortune of meeting his cold gaze.
After seemingly an eternity, the luxury sports brand pulls up to your driveway, and without skipping a beat, Oscar waves his hand.
"Go. Thanks for your work tonight."
You paused. Should you apologize more? Mention how you weren't an alcoholic maybe? Just anything so that he doesn't think you're a fucking maniac?
"No, thank you, sir. For the opportunity I mean." you blurt out. He doesn't respond, he simply nods. After grabbing your things from out of the passenger seat, you swiftly shut the door and walk up to your front door. As the luxury car begins backing out of your driveway and speeding down the street, the full reality of everything that's happened tonight hits you harder than a truck.
"FUCK."
A WEEK LATER
"What do I do?"
You groan loudly into your pillow case, then turn your head towards your roommate.
"Get a part-time job or something, there's a million things out there to do." Your roommate sits up across from you and shrugs.
"I've tried, Thalia. Nothing's hiring right now." There was a bit of silence.
"Remember how I told you about that amazing babysittin-" You were immediately cut off by your roommate. "You've told me that around four hundred times now. I know about the amazing gig that you totally threw out the window." Thalia said while laughing.
"There is literally no better job, the pay was amazing and the hours were definitely manageable."
"You only did it once..."
"...."
"..."
"Okay yeah, it was only once, but still! If I still had that job it would make my life so much easier. It would never really interfere with Uni, which is perfect."
Thalia stood up and grabbed a pillow, throwing it at you once she stood up all the way. "Just forget about it. We have midterms."
"Don't remind me." you shook your head repeatedly. "How about we go out and see a movie?" Thalia suggested, "It could take your mind off of things for a little bit."
Your eyes lit up. You absolutely love the movies. "Yes." You nod, "Yes please."
Both of you walked out of the dorms of your university and headed outside to the parking lot. After getting in the car, you started blasting some music while driving towards your destination. You were a pretty decent driver, you had never gotten into a single accident, or fallen victim to extreme road rage. The latter might be a little bit of an over-exaggeration. You bounce your head up and down to the rhythm of the music as you drive. Thalia looks over at you mischievously and starts typing something on her phone. A second later, "Captain Save-a-Hoe" starts playing. You shoot your head over to her "Are you serious?" you laugh. She nods her head, and you two start singing it. "Should I save her?" She repeats. "I wanna be saveddddd!!!" you sing along. Both of you erupt in laughter and continue singing the whole way to the theatre.
After waiting for a while, Thalia approaches you with some popcorn and hands you your drink. You take it from her, nodding your head in appreciation, and take a big gulp. "I heard the movie should be good" She says as you walk through a long hall, looking for your guy's theatre room.
"I heard it sucked." You say with a slight chuckle. "Well, we'll just have to see won't we?" As you find the theatre, you guys make your way in. "Don't judge it too quickly, things aren't always as they seem" She said in a confident voice.
"Look who got so wise on me all of a sudden."
"You know I'm taking that philosophy class."
The movie had been going on for around half an hour when your phone rang. You immediately turned it off, as you were completely immersed in the movie. It rang again, ignored.  You feel the buzzing from the phone once more and decide to take a look. The light from your phone basically blinded you but not before you read the words "Ms Green" on your screen. You gasp quietly and answer. As you put the phone up to your ear, you signaled to Thalia that you were going to step out. You crouched down, avoiding people's legs, and as you walked out you heard her.
"Hello? "Y/N?"
You brushed your hair out of your face as you finally stood up, speed walking towards the exit. "Hello Ms Green," you say, trying to hide your breathlessness. You hear a sigh of relief from the other line. "I've been trying to reach you."
"Yes, I'm so sorry, I was...in the middle of an important arrangement." you mutter.
"It's quite alright. I needed to have a chat with you about the job you did last week."
Oh, shit shit shit shit! Is she going to tell you she's going to press charges? Are you going to get arrested??? Oh my lord, you don't have the money to fight fricking OSCAR ISAAC in court. There's a slight silence as all of these thoughts run about frantically in your head.
"Ms L/N?"
"Yes yes, I'm here."
"Right. I'm sure you've met my employer by now." She clears her throat.  "So there's no need to address him as 'My employer' anymore."
fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
"Yes ma'am." you gulp.
"Right, well, he mentioned that the kids really loved you."
You were definitely not expecting to hear that, not in the slightest. Is she trying to soften the blow?
"As did I ma'am. They're fabulous kids."
"Are you free in two days?"
"......what are you asking?"
"Can you babysit again in two days?"
"....."
"Hello?"
"Yes. Yes. Mhm." you clear your throat and nod. "It would be my pleasure."
"Right. I'll send you the details."
"Thank you so much Ms. Green."
You hang up the phone and shriek. "Let's GOOOOOOO!!!"
You get a dirty look from a theatre employee and you whisper a quick apology.
AU:
Hello everyoneeeee, i wanted to clear some things up/ clarify plot-holes before anything else. First thing, y/n is around the ages of 25-28!!! Essentially, you are still studying at University. The degree is totally up to you, but i'd imagine its a pretty hard and lengthy degree like nursing, or engineering. But it's up to you :0!! Secondly, Id like to mention that y/n does in fact have a car, as you could tell from this chapter. You also live on campus, and in the chapter where you're at "home" with your mother, you're helping her move in to the new place, and moving your old stuff into the bedroom you'll stay in when you visit. So no, you do not live with your mother. Thanks for reading this chapter. New stuff is coming out soon ! :)
