*Kendall's POV*
"Brennan. Hi." I clear my throat.
"Hey, uh, can you meet me at Crumbled?"
"You're in town?"
"Yeah, I am."
"I can meet you in a half hour."
"See you then."
"Don't be late or I'm leaving."
"I see you still have that sense of humor I love."
"I'm not joking."
"Okay... well I'll see you in a few."
"Bye."
♡
I told him not to be late, but of course he is. I've been here for fifteen minutes. Yes I said I wouldn't wait but he probably has a good reason for being late. I'll only wait a few more minutes.
Ten minutes later he walks in with that same big stupid grin and a bouquet of red roses, the flowers he got me on our first date.
"Hi Kendall." He smiles handing me the flowers. "Sorry I was late. I was picking the flowers up and there was a huge line and-"
"Thanks Brennan, but why?"
"Why what?"
"Why meet me here? Why get me roses?"
"I was just in town and I thought we'd catch up."
"Really Brennan."
"What?!"
"You bought me red roses."
"So?"
"They don't have any significance to you?"
"Should they?"
"Brennan these were the flowers you bought me on our first date!"
"I know."
"Then why-"
"I was trying to see if they have any significance to you Kendall."
"Oh."
"Well do they?"
"Of course they do Brennan, but why do you care?" I mumble meekly looking down at the flowers, picking at a dead petal.
"Kendall because leaving you was the stupidest thing I've ever done! I was young and I took you for granted!" The petal I was picking at fell off leaving only healthy new petals to grow in its place.
"Bren-"
"Kendall I still love you."
