– Cozy apartment.
I smiled to myself as I put on a white strappy dress that reached just above my knee. I was getting ready in the bathroom for our spontaneous date, while Charles was wandering around the apartment out of boredom. Did I still feel insecure around him like some teenager? Definitely, but it happened when I wasn't thinking straight, so I had to deal with it somehow.
– Tiny, I know – I sighed as I came out of the bathroom and saw him standing on the small balcony, his back to me. – I'm renting for now, I have no idea where Adam will send me next – I added with a shrug when the boy turned towards me.
– Even more beautiful than yesterday – Charles said appreciatively, examining my body.
I felt slightly embarrassed by his confidence, so I decided to change the subject.
– So where are you taking me? – I asked, slowly moving towards the exit. Charles followed closely behind me, keeping an eye on my ass the whole way. How did I know that? When I turned to face him in the hall, grabbing my purse lying on the dresser, his eyes returned to my face at the speed of light.
I rolled my eyes and left the apartment with him.
– I don't have an idea yet, but it seems to me that you haven't had a chance to see everything in Monaco yet – he said questioningly, and I nodded.
– Mhm, the only thing I visited here was the club yesterday – I laughed together with the brunette.
As we were leaving the building, we heard screams from upstairs, which were probably coming from Norris' apartment. Charles looked at me with obvious boredom, which said it all that loud arguments involving Lando and Claudia were nothing new. A thought popped into the back of my head that said only one thing; he told her about us, but it quickly disappeared when I realized it meant nothing to him and he would probably hide it at all costs.
– I'll take you to the beach – he said briefly, opening the door to his beautiful Ferrari, which I immediately got into. I high-fived myself for choosing white flip-flops with gold details instead of high heels.
Even though I really wanted to visit the Monegasque beach, I knew it would be quite populated at this time of day.
– Are you sure? I think we definitely won't be alone there – I said uncertainly, watching his profile while he was focused on the road.
– Yes, I'm sure. I know one place that only a few people know about and I will take you there – he replied, smiling nicely at me. So I nodded, looking around through the car window. I still couldn't believe that I had the opportunity to live in Monaco. Maybe I didn't know for how long, but the mere fact that I was sitting in the most iconic Ferrari with Charles Leclerc by my side, cruising around the tight streets of Monaco, satisfied me. At that moment I felt I could do anything. Our entire journey to the place Charles was talking about took us about ten minutes, which we spent in comfortable silence. The brunette noticed how I was looking at every building, car and yacht so carefully that he slowed down, causing a small traffic jam. I smiled at him, trying to hide my red cheeks from shame.
– Thank you – I said quietly, and the brunette just shrugged, smiling from ear to ear.
– It was cute how you looked at everything around you. You're probably the first person I know who admires Monaco so much – he admitted, which embarrassed me even more.
It's Charles fucking Leclerc. That one sentence repeated itself over and over in my head as we got out of the car and started walking along the empty beach. The weather was beautiful to go swimming, but the presence of a brunette next to me completely discouraged me from doing so.
– It's beautiful here. It's strange that there's no one here – I said, sitting on a large stone, of which there were several there. Charles took a seat right next to me.
– The locals themselves know about this place – the brunet shrugged, watching the slow sunset, which I did too. It wasn't late enough for us to see a complete sunset in half an hour. I had no idea if Charles was in a hurry because I didn't even ask. I invaded his day with my shoes, not having in mind that he might just be busy with something. I only realized this when we were silently observing the horizon, sitting on a rock. I felt stupid. I turned my gaze to him, examining his perfect profile for a moment, when suddenly he turned his attention to me.
– Is there something on my face? – he asked jokingly with a nice smile, which also appeared on my face.
– I didn't even ask if you had time today... – I said uncertainly, and the smile that appeared on my face a moment earlier was fading by the second.
– I'm off today. I was going to stop by Lando's to spend some time with him before he flies to Dubai – he said calmly. – But maybe it's better that it happened the way it did. I enjoy your company much more than his and Claudia's – he said with a smile.
Lando and Claudia. I swallowed, trying to smile broadly, which I managed to do. We spent the next half hour talking about all sorts of stupid things, and I had completely forgotten that there was such a person as Lando Norris.
We were supposed to stay on the beach until sunset, but it had already passed and I felt cold, which did not go unnoticed by Leclerc, who at the speed of light gave me his sweatshirt, which I accepted with a smile.
It was getting later and later and we were both tired, so we agreed it was time to get going. On the way back, I turned on the radio to break the silence between us, which Leclerc noticed.
He walked all the way to my apartment with a gentle smile, which rubbed off on me as well. That was a nice evening.
– Thank you for everything, Charles – I turned to face him as we stood outside the door to my apartment.
– It was just a pleasure. I hope we'll have the opportunity to do it again soon – he said with a cheeky smile, putting his hands into the pockets of his tracksuits.
– If I can find time in my schedule, sure – I said with a laugh.
– Ah, okay – Charles nodded in disbelief, choking out a soft chuckle.
After a few seconds of watching each other in complete silence, I didn't want to be apart just yet. The brunette took two hesitant steps towards me, standing literally a few centimeters away from me. I swallowed loudly, watching him bite his lips while looking into my eyes. He was waiting for me to move. So I reduced the distance between us to a minimum, placing my hands gently on his shoulders as he placed his on my waist. We placed a quick kiss on each other's lips, pulling away from each other for a moment, but I quickly found myself wanting more. Leclerc was of the same opinion, so he moved me back to him.
Our lips were about to meet again when the apartment door opened and I heard the surprised voice of my younger brother.
– Melanie? Is that Charles Leclerc? – the seven-year-old's voice echoed through the corridor.
I jumped a few centimeters away from Charles, turning to face the open door of the apartment where Nico stood, dressed in pajamas with drawings of Formula 1 cars.
– What are you doing here, Nic? – I asked, surprised, but everything immediately became clear when our mother stood next to him.
– We came to visit you, but I didn't know you'd settle in so quickly – said the shocked blonde, watching the confused brunette next to me, who just smiled pleasantly.
– Maybe I'll leave now – Leclerc said after a moment of uncomfortable silence in which we just looked at each other.
– Nic! I built you this Lego McLaren! Where are you?
My mouth opened spontaneously as Norris's cheerful voice let me know that he was in the apartment and getting closer. I hoped it was just a stupid dream.
I glared at him as he stood behind Nico, watching me and Charles alternately.
– Leclerc?
