“Ochre. . .is there something wrong?” Lydia asked. Ochre’s hands start shaking like leaves as she points out the window. As the sun rises, it casts an absence of light on the cold ground. The figure was tall and dark, shrouded with a form of jacket and hat. Lydia closes the window.
“Who even was that?” Lydia asks.
“. . .I don’t know, but whoever, or whatever, that was, I don’t trust it.” Lydia pulls back the curtain a little bit more. The figure is now gone, as quick as it came, it vanished. Lydia conjures up a sigh of relief in her lungs and closes the curtains once more.
“It’s alright now Ochre, the person is gone now.” Ochre smiles, but it quickly is replaced with a look of fear, as she hears the front door of the castle slowly creep open. The pair looks at each other, terrified to make a sound. The noise continues from the front door to the stairs. Lydia quickly motions for Ochre to hide in the closet as Ochre turns invisible and takes off her glasses. The noise keeps on heading up the stairs. Lydia slides under the bed, as the noise stops right in front of their bedroom door. The silence is followed up by four very sharp knocks on the wooden door separating the couple from the thing outside.
“Hello? Is anyone here?” Said a small voice from outside. That didn’t sound like what they saw prior, but looks at the best of times are deceiving.
“. . .Jasmine?” Lydia says in confusion.
“Lydia! Hi! Can you let me in please? I saw something. . .and it freaked me out. . .” Lydia gets out of her hiding spot and opens the door. On the other side was a petite girl with long brown hair, her black eyes looking like the night sky if the stars even thought about not shining for even a moment. Her face is all rounded as well as her features upon it. She steps inside as Ochre, slowly but surely comes out of hiding.
“You said you saw something that scared you?” Lydia asked. Jasmine nods.
“We did too, but they’re gone now and I think we will be ok, Hiedie didn’t do anything to hurt you or anyone else did she?” Ochre questions afterwards. Hiedie is the Mr. Hyde to her Dr. Jekyll, literally. Jasmine used her more of a coping mechanism after the doctor passed away however, instead of using her to stay young. The three of them sit in the room together, with the door now shut and locked, safe from whatever gave them the spooks.
