We landed with a soft thud on the ground. With my boots long forgotten back at the Tree House, I let my toes dig into the rich damp soil.

I started to walk forward only to realize that Peter's arms were still protectively wound around my stomach holding my tightly to him.

"Wait just a minute Wendy, Fairies... well...they can be tricky." the softness of his voice tickled the neck below my ear.

Turning my head slightly so he could hear I whispered. "What do you mean by that?" As if deciding to give me an example of what he meant, a small delicate creature with pointy ears and wide mischievous eyes, flitted in front of my face courtesy of the most beautiful wigs I had ever seen. They were more purple than imaginable, and had intricate gold designs on them while the whole wing seemed illuminated by a dulled purple light.

I remember reading once in a book that fairies are so small they only have room for one emotion at a time wether that be anger, jealousy, love, or happiness. I had also read that there emotions were often reflected by whatever color their skin was.

I was so consumed with its beauty that I didn't register how it's expression had changed from mutual curiosity to annoyed anger once it saw I was in Peters arms.

Noticing my hand was still on Peters in flew down and gave it a hard bite. I pulled my hand away removing myself from Peter and rubbed the small sting.

"Ow! Oh that little...." before I could finish my sentence I felt a sharp yank at the back of my head. Followed by more. The little bastards were pulling my hair!

I looked over at Peter who happened to be enjoying this immensely. Laughing along with the purple fairy whom first bit me.

I was getting frustrated that he wasn't going to help, so delicate or not I took matters into my own hands. "Why the HELL are you laughing!?" turning sharply around I stared swatting at the stupid buggers in the sky. Feeling a small surge of victory whenever I felt one hit my palm.

There were tiny yells all around me in a language I was not familiar with. With the fairies yelling and laughing while flying around me, and Peter laughing it was very disorienting.

Out of pure frustration I lashed my hand out hitting one fairy, which was a ruby shade, knocking it to the ground.

Everything around me froze.

Slowly they fairies landed on the ground and walked over to their fellow comrade. Peter as well stopped laughing and ran over to the creature scooping it into his cupped hands.

Turning his head to glare at me. "What is wrong with you Wendy!?!?"

"What do you mean what's wrong with me I-uh.. it was an accident they were attacking me!"

"Seriously Wendy they are the size of your finger!" he followed the other fairies to the hollowed out tree which they live. Laying this hit Fairy inside.

My mouth formed an o, how could he even begin to blame this on me!?Turing my back to them I walked over to a nearby stump and sat out of the view of Peter and any fairies. About fifteen minutes later I heard Peter come up behind me. He sat next to me and cleared his throat.

"Look I, well I should have helped you earlier. I forgot that you've never seen fairies and you weren't use to how they acted." I slowly turned to look at him.

I let out a tired sigh. "I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I thought fairies were supposed to be nice..."

"Ha! They can be. They just got jealous. And don't worry they tend to over exaggerate. Maktia will be just fine." Jealous of what? Me with Peter?

"Wait they were jealous of me being with you? Thats absurd!!" he let out a small laugh.

"No it's not. Tinkari, uh the one who bit you, she likes me haha along with a lot of the other fairies." he nervously rubbed his hand along the base if his neck.

"What on earth does that have to do with me then? I've done nothing to upset them!"

" Well they were angry because they could tell that I... well they could sense how I felt about.....um they know how...." I leaned forward waiting to hear what he was going to say, butterfly's were bouncing around my stomach.

Before he could finish the purple fairy, Tinkari I think it was, flew in front of us and said something to Peter in her native toungue
To me it only sounded like soft bells but Peter answered her back.
"Tink says that they want to apologize for what happened earlier, so they planned a celebration. Come on!"

Peter helped me to my feet and we headed over to the sound of the music but before we got to close I pulled him back. "What were you about to say Peter? Before Tink came over?"

"Oh? Hmmmm... you know it's the weirdest thing I cant remember, lets go dance!"

I enjoyed writing this chapter so hopefully you enjoy reading it! Let me know what you thought of the chapter. Peter is such a ladies man haha the mermaids fairies and Wendy.
