As per the norm, he was up way before Sila. Even though he had gone to bed all bothered and frustrated, he was hopeful that with the dawn of a new day, he’d be able to turn the tide. He mused as he took a sip from the bottle.

Or not, it seemed.

The water went down the wrong pipe, as he spotted Sila entering the kitchen. She remained unbothered, though, taking out the essentials for morning tea.

“Good morning.” She smiled. Aahil could swear it had an evil vibe to it.

“Why are you wearing my clothes?” He finally croaked.

“Your shirt, asterisk.” She corrected.

Just my shirt, the hell! He wanted to say but bit his tongue from mentioning that.

Sila narrowed her eyes at him. “What? We share a room, a wardrobe and are somewhat married. It shouldn’t be that much of a shocker that I found your shirt and wore it.”

“You wore your own PJs to the bed last night.”

Sila shrugged. “Did I? Maybe. Maybe not. You marched out so what you know.”

“Oh, I know! I know it very well.”

He didn’t need any pointers to see what she was doing. And he was looking. His eyes raked over her form and his jaw clenched.

“I pull it off well, don’t I?”

Well doesn’t cut it, wife. His inner voice shouted. But he acted nonchalant, or tried his best to appear that way.

“A quick breakfast and then I’ll leave to run my errands for today.” Sila leaned against the counter. Aahil wanted to look away but damn he didn’t know how to do that.

Sila played with her hair, not even saying anything. Not that she’d need to. She had taken him off guard. He was fumbling about even though; he tried his best to appear in control.

He finally got up, making his way out of the kitchen.

“Where are you going?”

But he was already out. “Have to make a quick call.”

“Yeah, summon your self-control.” She giggled, turning back to the boiling tea. Enough with boiling his blood.

As per her regular reminders, she did have a busy day. There were no texts from her and normally, Aahil would be bumped about that but seeing the tease she was proving to be, he didn’t know what to expect. She’d pull anything to ruffle him and it’d work just fine.

The image from morning flashed across his mind. Hell! That was one nice view. He shifted in his seat as he waited for her to emerge out of the shopping complex.

There were no texts, yes, but he did get a call a while back where she asked him to pick her up. Their battle of nerves aside, he was a dutiful husband so here he was, right on time.

He drummed his fingers on the steering as he patiently waited. It was after twenty minutes when he saw her walking toward the parking lot. She had already spotted him. There were more shopping bags in her hands than she could handle. He wasted no time in getting out of the car to help her.

“What did you buy? The whole mall?” He asked as he took the steering after securing all the bags.

“A bit, yes. We were in the mood so we checked our favorite places in the whole city. Dresses, shoes, and makeup. Haleh wanted new art supplies. Amal wanted to visit this new restaurant. I’ve got Bholay ke gol gappay packed for the both of us so you’ll be able to see what the hype is about. Then we came here because I wanted to see their lingerie collection.”
