Chapter 7: How do I change back

Pov Izuku

I escaped. I'm free no more torture no more experiments and no more fucking Master! I was so happy I didn't have a single care in the world. I think it took me a little over an hour before reality set in, I had a quirk I knew little about, I didn't know how to use it, and I don't know what to do now. While trying not to panic I saw a beautiful dark green cat in the mirror.

WAIT THAT'S ME

I'm adorable

This is so cool

Now, how do I change back?

Oh god

HOW DO I CHANGE BACK?

What if I'm stuck like this?

After years of being treated like one

I'm actually an animal

The realization had hit me hard. I had been abused and treated as less than human, now no one would know I was human. My stomach let out a loud growl making me realize I didn't know the last time I had a meal. My existential crisis could wait for now, I needed food and fast. I could smell something yummy not too far away. Once I arrived I saw a family of three eating at a table in the park. They looked familiar I wasn't sure why, I couldn't remember who they were. I thought the mom looked the least threatening and went up to her to ask for help but all that came out was a meow.

Should have seen that coming stupid

YOU'RE A CAT!

Of course, you can't talk

???: Awww are you hungry? Do you want some?

Me: Yes please anything *meow*

???: Here you go little kitten have some.

I didn't know what she placed down in front of me but I didn't care. With zero hesitation I tore into the food I was given. I was enjoying my meal when I saw a hand coming at me. Thanks to my new reflexes I was able to jump out of the way and hide.

???: Dammit Katsuki, look what you did you scared her away.

Katsuki: Shut up you old hag I just wanted to play with her

Hag?: You can't just try and grab her, of course she is scared

Katsuki: Whatever, who cares about a shitty cat anyways

Hag?: If you don't watch your fucking language I swear

I took off running wondering what was wrong with that boy. He just called his mom a hag. Someone needs to teach him some manners. With my stomach full my next worry was finding somewhere to sleep. I think I might have been able to go with that family but I kept getting a vibe to run away from that Katsuki kid. The night ended with me curled up in a ball hiding in a small cardboard box, it was cozy and I felt happy inside of it. This cycle continued for a few weeks Every day, I would find some food from either the trash for a family generous enough to feed me, and then I would come back to my box for shelter.

Life as a cat wasn't so bad, I got lots of naps and for the most part, people left me alone. Minus some kids that thought it was funny to kick me in my sleep. Fun fact I have very sharp claws as they soon found out. I ran into Toga once but she didn't recognize me sadly. I still am not sure how to transform back I have tried everything I could think of from saying transform to closing my eyes and hoping it would work. I could feel the quirk deep down inside me, waiting for me to access it but nothing worked. The nights were getting colder and staying warm was more difficult my fur helped but my box did little to stop the changing weather. I knew I needed to find a place to stay and soon.

Pov Nemuri

I was so happy to be spending time with Hizashi, and Shota. It had been ages since the three of them were able to go out for a night as civilians. It felt like the good old days, I felt less lonely. Don't get me wrong I had my students and my friends but nothing much else in my life. Shota had Hizashi to keep him company and they were perfect for each other not that he would admit it to me. Well if I can't find someone I will just keep annoying them just like I always do.

Mic: Nem how much further to your place? I'm tired and it's cold.

Midnight: Only a couple more minutes don't complain it could be worse.

Erasure: Don't you dare say it

Mic: How could it possibly get worse?

The grin on his face was short-lived as rain started to come barreling down on us.

Erasure: *sigh*

Midnight: You are happy now! Look what you did.

Mic: You can't seriously think I am to blame for this

I swear one of these days I'm going to kill him if Shota doesn't first. We started running towards my house to get out of the rain. When out of nowhere a cat jumped into my arms. She was cold, wet, skinny, and looked exhausted. I stared blankly at the cat unsure what to do when she started resting on my chest purring as she fell asleep. My heart melted she was the cutest thing. I saw Shota coming closer to take a look at the cat that was fully asleep.

Midnight: Nope, you have enough cats at home this one is mine

Erasure: There is no such thing as enough cats and you know that. Now give her here.

I quickly sped up making it to my home first before sticking my tongue out at him. She was mine.

Pov Izuku

It was getting late and I was tired and of course, my home wasn't waterproof. I was just about to fall asleep when the next thing I knew nature said hey have a bath. I need to find somewhere else to stay or at least a dry spot to sleep. While looking for a place to sleep, I picked a sweet scent. I felt drawn towards it like the moment I found the origin everything would be okay and I could sleep. I started to chase after that scent then I found her.

THE STRIPPER!!

Why does she smell so comfortable?

Does she like cats?

She is supposed to be a hero right?

That means she will hopefully at least take me in for the night

I hope this works.

I jumped into her arms hoping she would catch me. To my surprise she did and she was warm. I felt safe in her arms her scent was slowly putting me to sleep. I didn't even notice that I was purring as blissful sleep came to me.

Shorter chapter but I wanted to at least get out 2 chapters before I went back to work. I also think it was a decent stopping point. I did want a little feedback would you rather I release the chapter when I finish them or would it be better to spread out the release dates so that you can enjoy updates throughout the week instead? I personally am a big binge reader so the more chapters I have the better hence why I have posted them as soon as I get them typed, and somewhat edited. Thank god for Grammarly this shit is saving my broken-ass English. I hope you all enjoyed and if I have the energy I might get another chapter done this week if not, see you all on my next day off.
