He had now walked for what seemed like six hours to him. But he was on the ground that he recognised and was grateful for it. There was a small river going along the bank surrounded by trees. It was getting dark and he was tired of walking. So he went off the path and walked onto the perfect spot by the lake and began to gather sticks. After getting a pile he thought was big enough he rubbed two sticks together really fast just like mother had told him. There were a few sparks but after a while the pile wrapped in flames.
In the corner of his large eyes he saw movement, not nephilim. He picked up his hammer ready to attack the newcomer. Then it spoke. "Hello little one,... this one requires somewhere to... stay this night, yes? Calum was confused. The newcomer was not nephilim. It had no purple skin but instead it had fur. Instead of hornes it had Pointed ears, and it seemed to walk on all four limbs. Its eyes were blood red and fur bone white. The way it spoke made him cautious. "Who are you?" Calum asked, trying to hide the fear in his voice.
I am... guardian of the queen, yes?, I know you.. Young Calum., you are son of War. the first of the Nephilim yes? Yes... yes you have his face. Require the help of queeny... yes? Suffering mother? Correct?"
Calum was bewildered as to how he knew.
"How did you know?" It replied "this one knows everything... yes? This one can help get to castle sooner see queeny yes? Sooner." Calum knew there was a risk but decided to trust the stranger.
The stranger did a series of hand movements and with a flash of blue light a wall of some kind appeared in front of him. It was amazing. Different shades of grey clanged together in the shape of an oval.
"How did you do that?!" Calum asked with excitement in his voice. The stranger simply smiled and said "this one can walk through, that one can follow if it pleases yes?" watching how the stranger moved through the portal carefully, he took a deep breath and followed it through.
It was green all around him. It only lasted a couple of seconds but it was still weird. There were floating islands with structures on each of the islands. There was lava that poured off the sides. There were huge bridges connecting the islands together. It was magnificent. He wanted to stay but after a couple of seconds he landed in a courtyard of some sort. There was a gate covering the entrance with long black poles. Next to the gate he saw a trigger system. "That must be used to open and close the gate," he thought. Looking around more He saw a black building, it was pointed and he saw a demon-like creature handing out weapons to what he remembered as Krazor troops. Then he gasped as he saw the huge structure of the keep. It was awesome. A castle within a castle. It had walls of black stone and pointed roofs showing clearly where the buildings were. It was immense in size and looked extremely menacing. Then he heard a familiar voice.
"Need to reach keep... yes? Save mother?... yes?" Calum was up immediately and walked with the stranger to the keep.
"Gard is this one's name." Calum looked at Gard
"can you teach me that portal stuff, I saw some islands I would like to see." Gard looked at Calum and smiled.
"Time.. yes? To travel to the place of old, yes?"
Calum and Gard walked to the giant building of the queens. It was huge. Knowing that he was closer he could see the walls were made of solid lava.
"The queeny is of old yes? Born... in times of famine and sufer? Yes?" Gard explained.Calum looked at the Guardian
"What about you, are you of old to?" Calum said excitedly thinking how great it would be to see not one but two ancients in a day. Gard simply smiled and continued to walk on.
