The queen and Gard came with him back to his village. He was so excited to start the quest but he knew that he should probably get permission from his mother first. The queen equipped him with a new battle hammer made of steel, and a soul chain. He remembered what she had told him

"You can absorb the souls of your enemies through this but I must cast them into the weapon, otherwise you will not survive." he nodded and asked

"how do I capture souls?" she replied

"When you are there you will know what to do, but remember Calum all the things you kill are either my creations that are there to be wild or evil creatures placed here by other people from other worlds. One such person placed your fellow gods in chains. When you see the gods you will know what to do." he simply nodded.

"I will free them,' he vowed.

He rushed towards the small hut that was his house and cried as he saw his mother waiting for him at the door. She was awfully thin. She smiled at him as he saw what he had bought with him. The large convoy of food ran into the village and towards the storage room. As they unloaded the queen stepped out and walked to his mother. A huge smile of happiness came onto the queen and she yelled

"Fury! Is that you?" Calum was confused; he had no idea that the queen knew his mother or his father. She seemed to know everybody. Then in the queen's palm she produced a fruit of some sort that Calum had never seen before. It was orange and red with spikes around it. The queen began to peel it. It was green under the skin.

"You remembered my favourite." Fury said with a smile. She was drained as was everyone in the village. They had not had proper food in ages and something was killing all the animals around the village. Now Calum thought he knew who it was.

One of the gods was doing this. Forced to by an evil man that imprisoned them. He had to free the gods. He looked at his mother with a sad face. Then waited for the queen and Fury to finish talking. Then he said

"Mum, is it true that I'm a god?" She looked at him without anything but happiness

"yes, you are a god. And I knew about the legends all along." She turned to the queen

" Calum has said yes, so I will allow him to go, you will find your powers Calum and maybe some new friends too." He didn't know how she knew he was a god and he didn't care. He was just so excited to begin his new quest. He ran up to her and hugged her

"I'll miss you." he said, and began to cry with both happiness and sadness.

He turned to the queen after he was done.

"When do I start?"

"I will give you and your mother two more days together then Gard who will stay with you will teleport you to me and I will give you the necessary equipment for your journey." she said Then smiled and walked away.

His village wouldn't starve, and it was because of him he was so glad and he saw in his mothers eyes that she was proud of him. "Let's go inside." she said. And so they did.
