"Who else." Did he know how not to talk in sarcasm? Harry let out a chuckle, pulling back to look over the other boy, seemingly relaxing but really keeping his blade tucked behind his wrist, "Raven?"
The boy still slumped against the wall nodded, "More like crow, not big enough to be a raven."
He stood to his feet, indignant, "That's rude." Harry shrugged, "I'm not the one still weak at the knees from being pinned to a wall."
"Who. the hell. are you?"
"Killing angel."
His eyes crinkled slightly – was he smirking? "Ah, saving grace." Harry paused, "What?"
"They call you saving grace over on the other side." He took a few steps forward, causing Harry to back up into the bar behind him. "Y'know why?"
"There are rumours." His lips brushed against the shell of Harry's ear before jolting back and beginning to walk backwards down the gridded walkway,
"Rumours?" Harry managed to ask, deciding to completely ignore the acrobatics that his heart just did.
"Yep," Raven jumped over the bar and onto the walkway below, Harry followed him, carefully dropping onto the banister and walking along it just behind the boy in black, "Like?"
"Supposedly, you're a paramedic gone mad, the Harley Quinn of our profession."
Harry laughed, "Well, I won't say no to Harley Quinn, I mean have you seen Margot Robbie? But I didn't go mad, I was driven mad, people don't get to be how I am without help to get there - I was in the darkness so the darkness I became and all that."
"Well, you certainly don't look very dark." Harry nodded, "Maybe that's true, but I have a reason for wearing all white in the way that I do."
"Well, pray tell, because I think it's kind of stupid as someone who's profession is hiding."
"Funny you say that, but I've never hidden. Hiding wouldn't even give them a chance, I wear white so they have time to run, I wear white so they have time to say goodbye because once they've seen me, they're dead unless I want them alive, okay? Plus, it looks good on me."
Raven tilted his head. "Alright, I suppose that makes sense, but paramedic to assassin? bit of a career jump, don't you think?"
"Assassin, Paramedic, back to Assassin, so no I wouldn't say it was that strange."
They continued bantering as they moved through the space, scouting together, "So what about you?" Harry asked, soundlessly dropping down to the ground when his banister ran out "Me?"
"Well, you know so much about me, tell me something about you, how did you end up here?" He paused and Harry stopped too, waiting as the other tried to think of a way to answer.
"Difficult - obviously I was trained as a child, but I didn't really want to go this way, I think everything I loved, became everything I lost, it broke me and I ended up falling back into the one thing I've always been used to"
"I think I know what you're talking about."
Raven smiled slightly - or Harry supposed he did, little crinkles momentarily appeared by his eyes, "You would."
"What?"
"Oh nothing, relatable upbringings and all that you know?" Harry nodded, "Are we going to have to fight now?" Raven turned round, hand shifting slightly towards his knife, "Eh, probably - well unless you want to team on this one."
"You know that's against the code." Harry argued. Raven shrugged, "Okay then, rock, paper, scissors?" Harry smiled under his mask, stopped when he realized the other boy could probably tell, "You know we can't do that."
Raven adjusted his mask and clipped a buckle on his wrist closed, "We could always just get our people, well our employers' people out without going for each other's?" Harry nodded, "Yeah, okay".
They looked at each other. "The gold is a really nice touch by the way, brings out your eyes." Harry blinked, trying to figure out what he was talking about, "Oh, my eyeliner, ehm thanks, yours is nice too."
He raised his eyebrows, "You're just saying that" Harry shook his head, "Nope, the black really does bring out the evil in your eyes,"
He chuckled, "Well thank you, I'm quite flattered" Harry rolled his eyes, "So how do you want to go about this?" Raven paused. Harry could practically see the gears turning, the plan shifting into place.
"Well, there are two by the door." He pointed the guards out from their higher vantage point, "And two at the walls,"
Harry shook his head, "There's another pair under that ledge." He pointed to an overhang that came out into a room, "Saw them through the gridding."
Raven tilted his head, "See, we're working well together already?" Harry rolled his eyes, Raven groaned, "I know you have mascara on but that doesn't mean you have to be sassy about it."
Harry laughed "Okay, Mitch can you scan for heat signatures please? Out loud, so I don't look like a psychopath."
"Who's Mitch?" Harry held up a hand as a small hologram appeared out of the forearm of his suit. "There are three men on the left side of the building in your exit path." Harry paused, "Equipment?"
There was a light beep as a summary was pulled up on the screen panel. "Okay, so most of them aren't armed, but they have bullet proof vests so your little gun there won't work on them, that stunning carved knife you threatened me with should be fine though, and we aren't going to kill them, just knock or stun, don't leave an unnecessary blood trail, got it?" Raven nodded, staring slightly in awe,
"Good, you take the left and I'll take the right, maybe I'll see you around".
Raven rolled his eyes, "You most definitely will."
Harry chuckled, "Maybe I'll have to tie you up next time" The other boy looked mildly shocked, "The nerve you have to think I wouldn't get you tied to something first."
Harry shrugged, "We'll see, I've had plenty practice."
He wanted the last word, so jumped off the edge of the platform, startling a pair of guards easily knocking them out, he heard a call of, "Eejit," before another pair of guards fell to the ground.
"That wasn't very discreet you know, but not bad technique"
Raven did a little pose and jazz hands before kicking the approaching guard in the chest while clocking the other in the nose, "I don't really do discreet once I get started."
Harry raised his eyebrows.
"I noticed."
