I would like to apologize for taking so long, but I am a writer that creates from genuine inspiration and I lost it for a time there. I went to Rocklahoma this year and saw Motionless In White and I believe I found what I need to continue. Please enjoy...

You could practically hear the excitement coming from Amnesty in the back seat. "Ground rules Amnesty, not touching anything that isn't a puppy or a kitten, and you are not allowed to get a snake or any other slimy creature." I shivered just thinking about one of those things slithering around the house. Yeah, no.

"OK OK OK!!!!!!" she was literally bouncing in her seat, "Can we go in now?"

I shut off the car after putting it in park, Chris had already gotten out and was standing by an open back door, "I can get her," he said as he smiled at me before leaning down into the back seat to undo her buckle.

I sighed thinking that after only meeting him a few short hours ago he was already such an attractive figure in my mind. A definite plus being the fact that Nessy seemed to like him well enough. I stifled a laugh as I saw her pulling him by the hand into the store with her.

I locked the car and headed inside looking around for a second before I looked over to see them in the section that had the puppies. I prayed that she got a dog. Cats were way too much maintenance. I walked over and heard her animatedly talking to Chris about each puppy she looked at and asking him which ones he liked.

I stopped at the end of the aisle and just looked at him for a second, he was smiling softly at her nodding his head along with whatever she said and gave her short answers whenever it was needed. My breath caught in my throat as he looked over and into my eyes. His eyes were reading deep into my soul and I would be lying if I said that there weren't scenes of me and this man doing terrible things running through my mind with the way his eyes bore into me.

I coughed to clear my throat while looking away. His stare was intense and something that I realized I was making a habit of looking into too often for my own good. I gave myself a moment to get my bearings before making my way towards them. Amnesty was still chatting away not aware that Chris's attention had slipped from her babble.

"Do you know which one you want?" I asked taking a glance at all the cute little pups. Oh if only I could take you all with me.

"I want that one!" she told me excitedly as she pointed at a German Shepherd pup. I smiled, I had always prefered shepherds.

I ruffled her hair, "Okay sweety let me just grab the lady," I turned but stopped when I saw she was already heading this way.

She smiled at me as she neared, "I overheard the decision, that's a great dog for a little girl, heck you can even take it classes and it could be her guard dog."

I chuckled, "That's actually not a bad idea. I'm just glad it wasn't a cat."

She grimaced with me, "Yeah cats aren't that great. Especially for pretty little girls," she said moving to kneel down with Nessy who was trying to hide behind Chris's leg slightly I mentally awed at the sight.

The worker gave her friendly smile which was answered with a shy wave, "Is that the one you want sweety?" She smiled more when she got an answering nod, getting out the key she unlocked the inclosure and grabbed the pup.

She handed the pup to Nessy who fumbled a little since the pup was a little too big for her arms. I felt my heart swell as Chris picked her up cradle style pup and all so that she could hold it on her stomach.

The woman walked up to me giving me a grin, "Your husband and daughter are cute," I went to correct her mistake when she continued, "The pup is a male, you're going to have to get his shots in a couple of months, we also recommend you use Blue Peak puppy food, it has wonderful nutritional values, and seeing as they look happy and ready to go we can get you checked out. Would you like me to grab you a bag of the food?"

I looked back at her, I had found myself staring at the two of them again, "um yes please." I looked over at Chris and waited until he looked at me giving him a questioning look and a thumbs up as I nodded at Nessy, he nodded his head and I turned walking to the accessory aisle. I grabbed a black collar and some training pads along with a small pet bed.

I walked to the register and put everything down on the counter. The lady whose name was Heather as I had just learned from her store tag, was already back with the food. She rang everything up fairly quickly, after paying I turned around see Chris only a foot from me. I jumped a little, shocked since he wasn't so close a second ago.

I felt my face get a little red when I heard the lady giggle a little with her hand over her mouth to try to hide it. I smiled and thanked her before I headed back out the door, Chris following close behind with a little girl and a puppy playing contentedly in his arms.

Arms I couldn't help but daydream were wrapped around me. I could imagine it so clearly, I'm sweating and my breath is coming out in quick gasps as his hands hold down my hips and his head buries itself into my neck as he starts to lose control...

"Sam?" I jump almost two feet in the air as I feel Chris's hands on my shoulders drawing me back to reality where I am not in euphoria under Chris, but in the parking lot of a pet store with my niece and her new puppy, and a man I barely know who for some reason even just being near is making my blood boil with such a hidden firey hunger.

I clear my throat as I feel my face flood with colour yet again in the presence of the intrigueing man in front of me. I look anywhere but at him as I finally find my shaky bearings, "S-sorry, um, would you like me to drop you off at home..or something?"

He smiled thankfully not noticing my flushed face, or more likely, not commenting on it, "Sure, if it's not too much of a hassle of course. I already got her buckeled in." He let go of my shoulders finally, and started for the passenger side.

I shivered at the loss of heat from his touch. I pushed my hair behind my ear as I tried to cool my raging hormones. Geez, I know it's been a while, but jesus christ libido keep it down until I at least know he's not an ax murderer. I rolled my eyes at myself as I got in the car and pulled back out onto the main road. He didn't seem like the type of guy that would get into physical altercations, let alone a guy that would take a life.

"So what's the address?" I asked as I slowed to a stop at a red light.

He opened his mouth to answer but was cut off by a sharp gasp from the back seat. "Aunt Sam we can't take him home. We need to get paint for my playroom! You said we were going to get it today."

I nodded and looked over at Chris, "Well, would you like to accompany us to the local Wal-mart? I just realized that I should also pick up some groceries unless I want us to survive on diner food." I bit my lip as I awaited his answer.

I almost let it go immediately though as his eyes caught it and grew a bit darker, "Grocery shopping with two beautiful girls. No problem."

I drew in a shaky breath as I turned my head away and hit the gas as the light turned green. Chris what kind of dangerous game have you drawn me into, because I'm starting to like it..
