"Thanks for dinner. It was lovely. Your family is lovely.", I said smiling up at John.
"Yeah I know. We are pretty awesome.", he grinned goofily. I giggled and punched him in the arm playfully.
"Your a dork."
"Your words hurt me. Right here.", he faked a sad look and put a hand over the left side of his chest. "Right here."
I laughed staring up at him. He searched the air for my hand and once he found it intertwined our fingers.
"Till tomorrow my fair damsel!", he yelled.
I laughed. "If anyone is the damsel, it should be you."
"No! I'm the the knight!", he pouted.
"Nope sorry."
"Please?", he frowned trying to hold back laughter.
"Fine I guess you can be my knight in shinning armor.", I sighed smiling.
"Yes!"
I rolled my eyes and began to walk away. "Goodnight, John."
"But wait.", he said pulling back on my hand to stop me. "Does you knight not deserve a token of your gratitude?"
"Fine if it lets me go home.", I huffed. I walked back over to him and pecked him on the cheek. "There, happy?"
"Very.", He grinned.
"Night, dork."
"Later, nerd."
I jumped into my truck and put it into gear. I saw John one last time through my rear view mirror until I was consumed by the night.
