My mind was a mess, nothing makes sense. Even though I get consistent A's in science class and I'm considered a whiz at math, both properties can't even explain what happened here in Brookside.

I crossed the street and headed to my school, Irongate High School. It gets it's name from the area of town it's in, Irongate.

Minutes later, I arrived at the sidewalk leading up to the big glass doors at the front of the school. It was Tuesday, meaning that we should've had school today if it weren't for the mishap that happened.

I opened the cracked doors and walked in, hoping that a teacher OR student would greet me. Just the rhythmic tone of my feet hitting the tile floor.
Since I did just jump out of my window, I didn't have time to grab shoes. Compared to most houses, this school didn't get hit that bad with whatever happened.

I walked down the hallways, hoping; searching.

I came just outside of the art room and heard a faint sound, almost a wheezing sound. I didn't dare look inside.

"Hello?" I called out. I waited. No reply

After a minute I decided to walk in. I stopped immediately in my tracks. A short girl with jet black hair was curled up in a chair that stood beside a table with a painting on it. next to her was a guy with tan colored hair, he was eyeing me up as I walked through the door. I quickly recognized the students, Lana and Jay, brother and sister. Both in my biology class.

"Are you one of....them?" He asked, his voice very faint, almost not understandable.

"Who...what's going o-" I asked but got cut off.

"Shhh, keep your voice down." He hushes.

Angry, I had the urge to yell at him.
"Explain to me now about what the heck is going on." I yell-whispered.

"You mean you don't know?!" His voice still very faint. "let me start from the very beginning."
