Today was the day. I was marrying him. Kentrell DeShawn Gaulden was gone be my husband. Through everything, we made it. He chose me. Not Diamontè, not Yaya, and not Jania. I was gone be his wife.
"You look so beautiful sis, I wish I was there witchu." My sister Asia said on FaceTime.
"Me too, I wish all y'all was out here, but you know how Kentrell is. He real private, he wants it to be just us." I told her.
"Mmm, controllin' ass mother fucker. I bet his people gone be there though." Asia said with a attitude.
"Only like two of 'em probably. I think it's just Montana here actually." I shrugged fixin' my dress in the mirror.
"I just feel like our family should all be out there to witness yo special moment you know? This supposed to be the happiest day of yo life." I saw a tear drop down her face.
"Asiaaaa, don't cry baby. I love you so much! I'm happy okay? Imma send y'all lots of pictures." I tried to cheer her up.
It sucked I wasn't able to share my new life with the people I loved the most.
"I love you too sis. Good luck today, and congratulations. I'll speak to you later." She sniffed.
We hung up the phone, leaving me all alone with nothing but my thoughts.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish my family was here too, but that's just how Kentrell wanted it to be. He was very particular about the people he let around him and who he allowed to be up in his life. He was used to people using him for clout so he don't trust easy. And unfortunately, Kentrell didn't trust my family, especially Asia. My family didn't get to see or be a part of our amazing life.
Anything was possible with Kentrell, he had access to a life that most people could only dream of, and he had chose me to spend it with him. It hasn't been easy, but nothing easy is worth having.
I've got my two beautiful babies to think about and my soon to be husband. That's my family now. I was happy I convinced myself. I am happy.
Nerves took over my body. Was I doing the right thing? I'm in deep now. I took a breath, and picked up my phone to distract myself.
