Sylvia's perspective

I stare into those deep red eyes that are looking at me with hatred and hunger. We're surrounded by bushes and trees, it makes it hard to see. My hand slowly slides down my body to reach for the wooden stake I had carved earlier. I grab the stake and curl my fingers to be tight around it. The demon shows his fangs to me. I smirk and jump toward him. He quickly runs behind me and tries to bite me. I roll out of the way to a tree and huff and puff as I gain my composure. I need to be quick, the sun is rising and at a very alarming rate. The demon looks panicked, but also calm. These demons are so arrogant. They do not understand the conflict they really cause. Maybe if they did, humans and vampires could get along. But that would never happen. These demons do not deserve such pity. They all need to perish for this world to become truly safe for humans, the superior race. Blink. Shit, the vampire is gone. He must have run away, since the sun has rested on the horizon and is still rising. I check my surroundings before I determine that the area truly is safe. I walk out into a large grassy field. She runs over to me and embraces me tightly, before holding my arms and swinging around. She giggles, but I'm not amused.

"Sylvia! You're back! Any luck?" Beth says in a hushed tone next to my ear. She leans back and looks at me eagerly.

"Haha, no, not today. It got away from me unfortunately." I replied. Beth's face droops, she frowns. Her olive skin and her black hair shine in the early sunrise.

"I'm certain that you will catch it next time. Did you get anything for me?" She'd ask, her face brightening slightly with the question. I shake my head and smile defeated. I hand over a red flower. Her eyes widen and she grabs it. Suddenly, she winces and drops the flower. It seems to have burned her hand.

"Oh.. why did it do that?" I'd pick it up again and stuff it into my back pocket.

"I.. have no idea..!" She looks slightly surprised, but more worried. She looks at her red blistered hand.

I look at her, worried. Her hand is very badly blistered. Almost looks like its.. boiling.

"Do you need a bandage? Or ointment?" I grab her wrist and make her show me her hand. She pulls away and waves her hands.

"No no, it's all good! I should be okay, it should heal." She'd answer nervously. She's trembling. I raise my eyebrow at her and she raises her eyebrows at me. I smile and chuckle a little bit before letting go of her wrist and rolling my eyes.

"Alright, I gotta go help my mother with chores. Seeya later sylvia!" Beth skips off happily to the right along the rocky path towards a small cottage. I see her go around the
