It was not long before a streak of tears ran down my cheeks, more than physical pain it was like she had stabbed me right through my heart. That painful feeling when someone close to you hurts you.
My sobs filled in the room as I saw Kareena glaring at Karishma, her hands crossed over her chest.
"Why would you hurt her?" Kareena shouted and turned towards Karishma, her hand hanging in the air, with her eyes on me, I could hear her breathing.
Without uttering a word, I turned around with a hand over my arm. I bit on my lips trying to control my feelings and a metallic taste entered my mouth. Why is she so pissed at me?
"Hasz, please I am so sorry, don't leave" Karishma gripped my wrist with her shivering hand.
"Give me a damn reason" I shouted, jerking free from her grip turned my back without looking at her.
"Please, I was worried, frustrated, and angry" She reasoned with her voice coming out as a whisper. Her anger issues are her problem, that shouldn't mean that she can go around hurting people.
"Hasz, if you leave I will die, I swear please forgive me" I heard her footsteps behind me, with my hand around the doorknob I stifled back a sob and turned around to see Karishma on her knees, her always sparkling ice-cold eyes were watery and red from crying.
"Haseena, maybe-" Kareena tried to butt in from behind a worried frown on her face, why is she so concerned?"Stay out of this" I flipped her off with my hand. She gave me a disappointed look but did not speak up. That was when I felt Karishma's hands around my legs, locking me on my spot.
"Please, I am sorry for hurting you, I cannot let you go" She begged in front of me, I tried my best not to fall on her.
"Karishma, let go" I put my hands on her shoulder to balance myself and push her away but contrary to the fact she hugged my knees tightly, sobbing up and begging for forgiveness.
"I don't want to be alone again, don't leave" She kept on repeating, I stood there trying to maintain my balance. I looked back and forth eyeing Karishma and Kareena, Kareena's watery eyes told the same story I should not leave Karishma.
"Please, I love you, don't leave me" Karishma was repeating the same thing. She dug her nails in my leg, gripping them tightly. Letting out a sigh I crouched at her eye level, cupping her cheeks with my hands, a smile crept on her face. Who would have thought after taking lives, Karishma would be on her knees in front of his girlfriend.
"I will not leave, please stop hurting people" Our foreheads touched, we stared at each other for a minute. "Guys, I am still here" Kareena called from behind, snapping her fingers, that girl is just unpredictable.
"Can you shut it for a second Kareena, we are having a moment here... and don't forget I will still beat-" I cleared my throat to get Karishma's attention, did she not hear me out?
"What did I just say about hurting people, huh?" I glared at her, with a warning tone. Her head dropped down, her face all sweaty and eyes still watery.
"Promise me you won't hurt anyone" I raised my pinkie towards her, gesturing to her to make the promise. She quickly raised her pinkie and interlocked it with mine. "Promise" she whispered. Kareena let out a sigh and stood still.
"Hasz, babe I am so sorry" Karishma extended her hand towards my arm and caressed it, I flinched with her touch, "It hurts" A teardrop left my eye, I pushed her hand away.
"I was agitated because I thought something might happen to you again" She embraced me, tears in her eyes, and tightly squeezed onto my t-shirt along with my skin.
