"Hey, Bowen, wake up." I opened my eyes and saw him fully dressed for a Thursday. "School time!"
"Ugh, why? Can we skip today?" I desperately asked.
"Richard!" I softly gasped when he said my full name. "Come on, don't you wanna spend time with me?"
"I do, but does it have to be at school?" I asked. I pulled him on top of me and started kissing his neck. "Please?" My voice muffled as I pressed soft kisses on his smooth skin.
"Mmm, hey! Stop convincing me to skip school! I have football practice, I can't skip school."
"What about for me?" I began to stroke his perfectly raven hair. "Would you do anything for me?"
"Yeah, I would, Bowen, but I have to go to football practice. After that, we can hang out." He gave me a peck on the lips and then, got off of me and gave me a change of clothes. "Ricky, when are you heading home? Like I'm not rushing you to get out, but as a friend, your parents must be kinda worried about you and Nat. Like, you can talk to them now that you're a bit calmer?"
He thinks I'm calmer? Calm about my parents splitting up? "Well, it's kinda a big deal considering my parents split up." I emphasized. "Sorry, I'm just-"
"You don't have to apologize, Ricky." But I do. Isn't that what you do? When you tell at someone you love? He kissed me once more.
"I'll see you at school."

"Nini! Nini! Nini!" I ran to her. Nini smiled at me.
"I have to tell you something!" We both said at the exact same time. "Woah, okay, you first." Nini got all happy and grinned from ear to ear.
"I'm dating Gina Porter!" I widened my eyes and gasped. How the fuck is she dating thee Gina Porter.
"WHAT? Oh my gosh! Nini, I'm so happy for you!" I tried to keep my cool, but really, I'm excited like crazy and confused.
"What about you? You said you wanted to tell me something." Nini asked. Shit.
"Um, okay, my past week has been really weird because I've been hooking..up...with...um...EJ Caswell." I whispered his name and Nini gasped so so loud, I swore the people heard it.
"Nini! Shush!" I put my finger over her mouth, silencing her.
"Fine! I wasn't that excited anyways! Dicks are overrated!" Nini groaned. That sentence kind of make me let out a giggle. "No, but I'm serious, how did this happen? Because, Ricky, he's not a good person!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't listen to you-"
"No, because now, you can't get out of this. I told you!"
"What's actually so bad about him?" I started getting defensive over him. "Like, you don't know him like I do! He's different!"
"Ricky, you've known him for a month! You don't know the real him! You don't know what he'll do to you! Fuck, Ricky! Don't be a fool!"
"Why can't you just be happy for me? I don't get it!" I walked away from her and sat at a lonely table.

"Hey, bro!" I saw Nat standing outside my room. "When are we going back home?"
"You wanna go back?" How could you even think about it? How could anyone? But again, it's Nat. And I will always be on Nat's side.
"Okay, yeah. Uh, let's go tomorrow, okay?" She nodded her head.
"Okay," Nat was about to walk out, but she turned back around. "Oh! Also, I set up a little surprise for you, it's on EJ's deck." Oh god.
"Nat, what did you do?" She laughed as I headed downstairs and I opened the door and saw EJ outside.
"Ricky, you said you needed something?" Wait, so this wasn't his plan?
"What?" Nat chuckled and then locked us out. "NAT! NATASHA MAISIE BOWEN, YOU OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR RIGHT NOW!" She just kept laughing.
"EJ! TELL HIM! OR YOU'RE STUCK HERE FOREVER!" Nat just kept and kept on laughing. Wait...tell me what?
"What do you wanna tell me?" Whatever it is, it's definitely big. I don't know why Nat put him into this. "Eej?"
"Yeah, um, okay, OKAY!" He was like sweating and I like never see him sweat. "Um, okay, okay..."
"EJ! Just say it!"
"I like you!" ...
Silence.
"I've been thinking about you ever since you fucking got here! You're so different, and so amazing, and you're so beautiful and fuck, you're like, you're the guy who changed everything! Like, not even just for me. This whole school was ruined when you were gone, and you...you changed that. You changed me. And I...I, FUCK-"
"EJ," It was kinda cute the way he was saying it. "I like you too." Oh finally.
Finally finally finally.
"Really?" I nodded my head and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him in towards the greatest kiss I have ever have.
His hands landed on my waist, and our tongues were locked in, just feeling the meaning of this kiss. I felt amazing.
I heard Nat unlock the door, but I didn't bother to eve look at her. I felt so happy to finally resolve what has been happening between us.
But, there's just something off.
Like, I like EJ, I do.
Yeah, that's all I need to focus on...
