The crisp morning air wrapped around Danielle and her best friend, Jaina, as they sat outside together and drank their hot coffee. Even though they both lived very busy lives, they always planned a long weekend where they went to the mountains in the fall.

"This is so nice," Danielle paused to take a sip of her hot coffee. "I needed this, I feel like we haven't seen each other in so long.

"Right!" Jaina said with a smile. "I know, it's amazing how fast time goes by when you're busy... What trail should we do today?"

"Hmm," Danielle hummed as she thought for a moment. "How about Chimney Rock? I know we've both been wanting to do that hike."

Jaina nodded in agreement as she pulled out her phone and began to text somebody. "Yeah, that sounds great!"

"Are we feeling an easier route or harder route today?"

Jaina remained silent, as she was focusing on typing out a text.

"Helloooooo," Danielle said while waiving to her friend. "Earth to Jaina."

"Right! Sorry... Let's do the easier path. My legs are feeling tired from yesterday."

"Honestly, same... That sounds good to me," the blonde paused to look at her friend, who was still texting.

"Who are you texting?" Danielle asked. "What happened to no phones this morning?"

"I know, I'm sorry," Jaina replied quickly. "Work."

"Really?"  The blonde said as she raised her eyebrows. "You're texting your co-workers on a Friday morning?"

"All done," Jaina said as she set her phone down. "Sorry... No more phone."

"How are things going with you and Boris?"

"Fine. It's almost been 1 year since we've been dating, which is... Crazy. How are things with you and Miss Stefania?"

"You know... I'm not really sure," Danielle said with a pause. "I guess okay, but I feel like she's been distant lately. If I'm being honest, I was happy to get away for the weekend. She's scaring me a little."

"I'm sure it's fine, don't overthink it," Jaina said while shrugging.

"What?" Danielle replied with a furrowed brow. "You're supposed to calm me down when I'm having doubts. That's all you have to say... It's fine?"

Jaina felt herself panic for a moment, as she knew something Danielle didn't at the moment. "Well what do you want me to say... She has another girlfriend?"

"Okay, now you're really scaring me!"

"I'm kidding! Come on, relax... She probably just has a lot on her plate right now..."

"Maybe, I don't know..." Danielle said with a laugh. "You're acting weird."

Jaina laughed back with her, but kept her eyes focused on her coffee mug so she didn't spoil the surprise that Stefania had planned.

"What if she breaks up with me?" Danielle said with wide eyes. "Oh my God... I don't know what I would do."

"Danielle!" Jaina exclaimed with a laugh. "Listen to yourself... Would you relax?"

"You're acting way too calm about this whole situation."

"Because there's nothing to worry about! Last week you told me there is a lot of tension at her office right now. She's probably just taking more time to focus on work," Jaina said as she looked at her phone which was suddenly flooded with incoming texts.

"Don't you dare look!" Danielle said as she pointed to her friend while attempting to keep a straight face.

"Okay, come on. Go get dressed so we can start our hike!" Jaina laughed and stood up out of her chair. "Don't forget to wear cute workout clothes today, I want to get a nice picture of us at the top."
