El
It was two weeks since Max had come to live with us. Hopper told me it was because it wasn't safe where she lived before, with her parents. I told him I understood because I did. Neil was like Papa. Like the bad men. She was sad when she first came here but I think she's better now. She seems happier than when she lived with them and I like her being here too.
Joyce is over here a lot as well. She says it's to help Hopper because now he has to look after Max too, but I know she just wants to be with him. I was in my bedroom, late at night, but I wasn't asleep. I was thinking about Mike. Max usually sleeps on a small mattress Hopper found in the spare room that we did up for her. There was a knock on my door. Looking up, I opened with my powers. Max.
"Hi." She whispered.
"Hi?" I whispered back.
"Can I come in?" she asked and I nodded.
"Is something wrong?" I asked her, worried and she shook her head.
"Its just...it doesn't matter." She decided as she shut the door.
I looked at her, confused.
"What is it?" I asked her and she frowned at the floor.
"Do you miss Mike?" she asked me, not answering my question. "Because, I'm starting to feel like it was a real stupid thing to do. Telling you to dump his a*s."
I stared at her, confused.
"Why would it be...stupid?"
She didn't look up.
"Max?"
She sighed.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have bothered you." She said turning to leave.
"It wasn't stupid. And you didn't...bother me." I told her.
She turned around.
"I'm sorry anyway."
I smiled.
"Do you want to...sleep here tonight?" I asked and she turned deep red.
"Max? What's wrong with your face?"
Max laughed a little.
"Nothing." She said, embarrassed. "And...yeah. Thanks."
I was confused for a moment but nodded anyway.
"Okay." I murmured and moved over so she could lay down. I put my head on her shoulder as I turned over, trying to get Mike out of my head.
"El?" she murmured.
"Yes?" I replied.
"Thank you."
I frowned up at her.
"For what?"
"Everything."
I smiled and didn't say anything. The light was still on.
"Max? Do you want the light off?" I asked her quietly, unsure if she was asleep already.
"Yeah, but its okay. Ill turn it off." She said, reaching over but I had already flicked it off with my powers.
Max turned to stare at me and we both laughed.
"Holy sh!t!" she said and I giggled, smiling at her. And for some reason, I didn't think of Mike again that night.
(A/N: Hellooooo wonderful readers! Thanks so much for reading this chapter! Like I said, it's getting better and we're already getting some elmax hehehe. The reason it's written a little child-like is because I want it to portray El's words which would be quite simple and direct, I promise it's not because I'm a terrible writer lol. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed, don't forget to comment and vote, stay totally tubular and I'll see you in the next one! xx)
