Serena's POV

After eating, I got up and started doing the dishes as Shohei stood by me.

"So, do you have any plans for the day?" He asked as he took a sip of his coffee.

"Mmmm, no, not really. I'm probably just going to stay home." As I rinse the dishes and start drying them.

"Awe, why not go out?" Shohei asked curiously.

"Sometimes I get sick if I go out a few times without staying home." I chuckled.

I checked the time, and it was almost noon.

I asked him if he had any plans.

He shook his head no. "Ippei took some time off to spend time with his family before baseball season starts up again."

"mmmm okay. Did you maybe want to hang out with Milo and me?" I said with a nervous laugh, thinking he would say no.

" I don't mind." I turned my head to Shohei, and he had a smile on his face.

I jumped up and down in excitement.

"I finally have someone to spend time withhhh. Well, make yourself feel at home, sir" I said.

"You're so cute." Sho chuckled.

We go sit on the couch as I turn the TV on. I sat right across from him with my coffee in my hands, and I admired him for a little.

"I really enjoyed hanging out with you the past few days." I randomly blurred out.

He turns to me with a smile growing bigger on his face as his face turns a little red.

"I enjoyed spending time with you too, Rena."

I smiled for a bit while still admiring his features. His fluffy black hair. His soft brown eyes. His welcoming smile.

Just thinking of us not being able to spend time together when he gets busy again, I know it's too good to be true because he has a busy schedule and will probably forget about me. I should not get attached.

I let out a sigh, just lost in my thoughts.

"What are you thinking about?" I looked back at him; his eyebrows came together as he looked confused.

"You're going to forget about me when baseball season starts, huh." I feel myself starting to pout.

Every time I start to feel happy again and enjoyed someone's presence, they'd always leave. Always. Maybe I have an abandonment issue? Maybe it's just me overthinking...

His expression softens. He scoots next to me and wraps his arms around me as he caresses my hair.

I instantly melted in his arms.

"Rena...I could never forget you. I know we met a few days ago but I've never connected with someone so fast. I truly enjoy spending my time with you... I truly do." He reassured me.

I started leaning onto him, dozing off until I heard thunder.

I went to the glass sliding window to see how hard it was raining.

Standing behind me was Sho.

"Fuck.." He said under his breath.

"Did you drive?..." I turned to him.

"no..." he replied.

"I could drive you back." I offered.

"I could stay for a while until the rain settles down. Can I?" He asked,

"Of course, Shohei. Should we watch Netflix and then make lunch?" I smiled

He agrees and goes lays on the couch. I went to my room to grab a blanket and returned to sit across from him.

"Come here." He opened his arms.

I went over to lay on him, putting the blanket over us.

We watch netflix as it rained.

I fell asleep listening to his heart beat.
