Chapter 1 - New Place New Life

Jude's P.O.V.

I slowly get out of the car and start walking to the school. I've been to many schools when I was moving around in the foster system. I have a feeling this school will not be the last school I go to. Me or Callie may do something wrong and the foster moms will send us away to another foster home. There has always been a routine for me and Callie when we come to a new school. Never get attached to anyone, never get in trouble, never start a fight, if someone talks to you don't give them to much information, ect.

I walk with Lena as we enter the school. I'm not nervous or anything cause I've always been the new kid so I've gotten used to it. Lena and I get to her office she says I'll be back have to get your schedule. I nod and she walks to another room. As she gets my schedule I take in my surroundings. I look outside and see the school is right on the beach. No wonder why they call it Anchor Beach.

Lena comes back into the room.

"All right. So Jude here is your schedule."

Lena says as she gives me my schedule.

"Your locker number and combination are on it to."

She says while sitting down.

"Also here is a slip of paper for you to give to your teacher knowing your new and were in my office." "Now if you have any questions you can come to my office at any time."

I nod and walk out the door. I walk around the building trying to get the feel of it while looking for my locker. I finally find it and do the combo. It opens and I put my stuff in there. I don't have to much stuff knowing I won't be here long. I hear feet walking in the direction where I'm at so I grab a notebook and a pencil and close my locker. I start walking and see Callie walking towards me. I run up to her and hug her.

"Hey honey. How are you? I was looking all over for you."

She says as she rubs my back.

"I'm ok. I found everything so lucky for me."

I say pulling back.

"That's good. Do you remember the rules me and you have when we get to a new school?"

She asked me.

"Yes."

I say and repeat them to her.

"Ok just making sure. Ok well what class do you have?"

She asked looking at my schedule.

"Ummm English."

I say looking at her.

"Ok I'll take you there. Ok?"

She says. I nod. She grabs my hand and guides me through hallways when we reach a door. She opens the door and we walk in. Instantly all eyes are on us but we don't show emotion. I'm used to getting stared at and so is Callie. The teacher speaks up.

"May I help you?"

She asks.

"Ok Jude be good."

Callie says. I nod and I hug her and she leaves the room. I hand the teacher the slip of paper that Lena gave me. The teacher then clears her throat as the students look at her.

"Alright everyone. We have a new student here."

She announces. Then she whispers in my ear and points at and empty desk.

"Go sit over there ok?"

She says. I nod and sit down ignoring the stars I get from people. I look at the clock and see I only have 15 minutes left in class. I zone out for the rest of the class. When the class finishes I pick up my notebook and pencil and walk out knowing I'll get stares from other people which I don't really care. As I'm walking I get shoved and fall to the ground and then I see a hand extend. I grab it and it pulls me up.
