The Rescuer's MC - Bk 2

Chapter 10- The week before Sturgis

With less than a week left to go , the clubhouse was a madhouse with everyone from the cult trying to make preparations for the different locations they would be going to.

Doc finally took David off the drugs to keep him asleep and David was now up and moving around the club house, mostly with his brother, Daniel, who was singing the praises of the club and urging his brother to prospect with him.

Melinda was not at all pleased with the attention David was getting from the club whores but David quickly put her mind at ease when he openly rejected Pepper for trying to come on to him in the bar one night.

Ralph and the other men talked to Lillian who assured them that her father had only bought the land because she was going to be living there. She agreed to talk to her father about selling it to them for the same amount he had bought it for and when she called him and explained what was going on, he agreed.

Prez had called Mr. Morocco the day after they had taken care of Jacob and his disciples and it had also made the news as being an accident. The reporter said that it was suspected that the furnace in the "church" had malfunctioned and exploded, causing the tank outside to explode, killing the men inside. Names had been retrieved from the car registrations in the parking lot so when the wives called asking for police reports to file for the insurance on their husbands, it had not been a problem.

In order to cover their tracks, Joe Jensen and Ralph Peters contacted Captain Graham at the police department to let him know that they were the BOD for Devlin Construction and that only a private memorial would be held for the family's of the men who had died. They requested if the press contacted them, they were not to disclose their names or to bother the family's of the men who died. Captain Graham was a big help with all of that.

Besides Amanda and Melinda, all of the widows decided to go back to their family's, except for Teresa Carpenter and Amelia James. They both were going to work at club businesses in town and Spokes helped them find houses close to where they would be working and the children would be going to school.

Captain Graham also pushed through the paperwork to get the vehicles that were left behind released to the widows. The family's went back to the houses to collect what they wanted out of them and for those of them that were leaving, they decided to leave on Saturday morning. Prez loaned them enough money for traveling expenses to get them where they were going until their insurance settlements came in.

The four complete family's agreed to remain at the club house until everyone got back from Sturgis. They would use the time the club was gone to take care of all the necessary paperwork to get the land and business turned over to the four men. They had all voted that Joe Jensen would be considered the President, Ralph Peters would be the VP, Billy Combs the secretary and Willie Harvey the treasurer.

They all agreed that these were titles that would be only on paper and had a separate document drawn up and notarized that all four men would be equal owners. They would change the name of the company to the Survivors Ranch. Later on their focus would change from strictly construction work to a non profit organization that would work directly with the Rescuers, offering housing and help with young adults and children.

They would not do the actual rescues but it would be a place where Prez and his men could bring the rescue victims for housing and help. It would take some of the pressure off of the club, especially financially but also in having innocents involved in the biker club scene.

On the Thursday before they were due to leave, Amanda, Melinda, Brigett and Stella had gone to Lexington and bought leather outfits for Amanda and Melinda so that they would fit in with the other ole' ladies at Sturgis. Melinda, who was older than the others, started to object saying she was too old to be wearing stuff like that.
