''Turn around, amore

''Turn around, amore.'' Vittoria Robertson said. Aurora obeyed and turned around.

She stood on a wooden platform that raised her a few centimetres off the ground, and was surrounded by mirrors. Her mother, meanwhile, had a needle cushion around her wrist, with multiple needles and pins stuck in it, and a needle between her lips, while her hands were sewing and unpicking threads of the dress Aurora was trying on.

''Do you know if dad's going to have lunch with us?'' she asked.

Her mother shook her head.

''He's really busy. He's having a meeting with the Dark Lord, if everything goes as planned, your father will be the next Minister for Magic. I hope you remember that tomorrow you have your first official meeting as a Death Eater, it's at Malfoy Manor.''

Aurora gulped and breathed slowly. Of course she remembered. She had become a Death Eater in June, but she hadn't been able to assist to any meeting, with all of the summer trips and then school.

So, she had been a Death Eater for half a year, but had not yet taken part in any of their meetings or been given a mission. She supposed Lord Voldemort saw her as too young and inexperienced to send her on a raid or any other kind of mission.

She had never wanted to become a Death Eater, but her parents were, and she had to carry on the family legacy and tradition. She had no choice, she could not refuse. It was what she had to do, even if she did not share any of the values her parents supported.

''I know, mamma, I know.'' she mumbled ''Ouch.'' she complained, when her mother stuck her with a needle.

''Sorry, amore. Look at yourself in one of the mirrors, isn't your dress beautiful?''

''It is, and it really suits me, don't you think?''

''Of course it does, I designed it, and your body looks a lot like mine, it's obvious that you would look good in it. Ho creato un'opera d'arte.''

Anyone would think that Vittoria was some sort of narcissit, but that was just her way of complimenting her daughter.

''Yes, you did. You created a masterpiece.''

''What about your grades? How many O's did my star student get?''

''All O's, mamma. As always.''

Vittoria smiled and got up, since she had been kneeling on the floor while touching up Aurora's dress, and kissed her cheek.

''Good job, amore.'' he clock chimed, indicating half past one ''Do you want to have lunch?''

Aurora smiled widely. It was the first time in the three days she had been home that she had the opportunity to eat with one of her parents.

''Yes, of course.'' she said, getting off the platform.
