Sonic woke up in a cold sweat, panting heavily. The nightmare had felt so real, but thankfully, it was just a dream. He glanced down at his legs, relieved to see them still intact.

Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Sonic was startled by Tails entering the room to check on him.

Tails: Hey, Sonic, are you okay? You screamed so loudly, it jolted me awake.

Tails looked genuinely worried, like a little brother concerned for his older sibling. Sonic gave him a thumbs up and nodded.

Sonic: I'm... fine... just a... nightmare...

Tails' eyes widened in amazement, as if he had stumbled upon a hidden treasure.

Tails: Sonic, since when can you actually talk!?

Sonic shrugged nonchalantly, as if to say he had no explanation. But the memory of the terrifying dream made him cringe and shiver in unease.

Tails: Are you sure you're alright, Sonic?

Sonic interrupted, his voice forceful, trying to convince Tails that he was fine.

Sonic: I'M FINE, TAILS, REALLY!

An awkward silence filled the room, making the air thick with tension.

Sonic: Anyway, didn't you say you needed me for something today?

Sonic scratched his head, trying to shake off the lingering fear from his nightmare. Tails' face lit up with excitement, eager to share his discovery.

Tails: Oh, right! My radar picked up a new power source, and it's stronger than anything I've ever seen. We need to check it out before Eggman gets his hands on it. You know he can't be up to any good.

Sonic sprang up from the bed, slipping on his trademark red and white sneakers.

Sonic: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get moving. Plus, I really don't feel like dealing with Eggman again this week... *sighs*

Eggman: The power source lies directly beyond the red ring door. If my calculations are correct which it is it's more potent than anything I've ever seen. Once I get my hands on it, Sonic won't stand a chance, and the dream of Eggman Land will become a reality.

Eggman laughed maniacally with mounting excitement. Navigating the dark chamber, he turned on his vehicle's headlights to uncover the massive door. With the sharp claws on his Eggmobile, he pried it open with ease. Following the power signal's trail, he discovered a blazing red cell, its radiance almost blinding.

As Eggman approached the source, he was met by two piercing red eyes fixed upon him.

Eggman: The signal is right here, but I thought...

Before he could finish his thought, a mysterious voice interrupted him.

???: You thought it would be an object...but I can be whatever you desire~

The voice had a seductive tone, momentarily causing Eggman to blush. Realizing he had a mission to complete, he quickly regained his composure.

???: I know what you want. And I can make you the most powerful being in the universe, but only under one condition, dear~

Eggman's eyes gleamed at the prospect of limitless power.

Eggman: And what might that condition be?

???: Free me, and I shall grant your darkest desires~
