When I woke up I wanted to shut my eyes again, i start school in a day and today
I had to go to get my uniform, the thing I hated the most. I'm starting 9th grade
soon but i'm not excited. When I got up from my bed i went outside and saw my
mom in the kitchen arguing with my dad. They fought because my dad works
at an office and they pay him really well so my mom uses him for the money. I
Guess dad found out she snuck out to a bar last night. I was used to it, on the
Other hand, my 3 year old brother wasn't. Im seriously starting to think my brother
isn't my dads. My brother has dirty blond hair and none of us have dirty blond hair,
I have a black hair color which i got from my mom and i have my dads
Eyes which are light brown. Though my brother has  black eyes. As dad was confr-
ontng her, I eavesdropped.
"I cannot believe this, 17 drinks! On my card!" my dad yelled
"Well i dont know how that got there" my mom said stupidly
"Malinda you reek like alcohol"
Just than my phone rang. My friends sent me a photo, it was Zack, he sent me photo
of him and Alex, my other friend, they where having a sleepover and asked if i wanted
to go. I had declined since i didnt like leaving my younger brother alone while my par-
ents where arguing. I decided to change into the outfit i was going to wear today. I also
had  to get my schools uniform today. I didnt want to go to school because the "perfect"
girl was going there. Her name is Maya. people praise her, even my friends.

2
I never knew why though. Im sure it is because her families rich, her dads the CEO
of a clothes store, everything is overpriced, i once saw the price for one white tee at th-
eir store, 20 dollars! That was a ridiculous charge for ONE TEE.

I went to the living room and something reeked, as i got closer to the kitchen i reali-
zed it was mom. She really did reek like alcohol.
"Ew mom you smell!" I yelled, my hand covering my mouth.
"It was just a couple of drinks, dont worry" my mom mumbled.
Though i didnt believe her, she was half asleep, her eyeliner was smudged, same
with her lipstick, she was also leaning on the counters, she gagged like if she was goin-
g to throw up
Dad fixed his glasses and sighed.
"Mom, you had more than a couple," I said worriedly.
"No i only had-" she started counting with her fingers "twelve!" she yelled.
"You should really quit drinking Cassy" dad said.
"I can quit when I want!" mom said.
Then they started arguing again. Why doesnt my dad get a divorce? Why is he still with
Her? I watched as they argued. I remember how when i was a little girl they argued rig-
ht in front of me.im used to it, i usually separate them if they get too close.
I focused my eyes on who talked while fidgeting with my hands, it was a habit.
Dad slammed his fist on the counter  while arguing.  I think of it as a reality tv show.

3
though i realized the argument was louder and more with emotion. Dad sounded
angrier than ever. Thats when i realized this was going to end badly. I decided to
Try to separate them since they where getting louder. I put hand between them
But it was no use.

Mom looked like she started to sober up. But putting my hand
In between them was no use. So i decided to stop trying. Just then i heard creak-
Ing. i turned around and saw my brother, Junior, he was standing at the side of
The door, his eyes red as a tomato. His lips where quivering. I gave him a sign
For him to wait and i looked at my dad and mom and walked away. I walked up
to Junior. We went inside his bedroom and it was a mess.
"Sissy, why are mama and papa always fighting?" junior asked.
"Their not fighting." I said sitting down.
"Then why is papa always yelling?"
"You'll find out when your my age"
"Why?"
"Your to young to understand"
"Tell me!"
I shook my head with my eyes closed. He wouldnt get that we may not know if
Hes actually my brother. If he realized he'd lock himself in his room. I know
Because i did that when i found out mom was cheating on dad.

4
"Sissy?" Junior asked.
"It's alright" I reply
We hugged each other as the arguing got louder.
Then it calmed down. We heard stomping and a door slamming shut.
"What happened?" Junior asked.
"Not sure" I replied "I'll go check".
