It all began in a city in China when the news of a bioluminescent child was born. After that, "exceptional" individuals began appearing all around the world. At the time, it was unknown what the cause was, but over time the "exceptional" became normal. What used to be fantasy became a reality. Today, about eighty percent of the Earth's population consist of super-humans who have special abilities. Because of the super-human abilities, the world is in chaos and a profession that everyone dreamed about became real. With the rise of these special abilities came an exceptionally increased rate of crime. And so, while many nations struggled to adapt their legal systems, brave individuals took up the torch of becoming heroes as if straight out of a comic book and began to protect people from evildoers. With the support of the public, some were given the right to exercise their abilities as an official hero. Also, depending on their performance they were given the opportunity to earn payment from the government, as well as, fame and glory.
~~Eleven Years Ago~~
"Momma, where is Daddy?" A young girl questioned as she sat on a swing waiting to be pushed by her mother.
"Daddy is saving the world as a Hero. One day he will come and see us, so you just have to be patient. Okay, Yukiko?" Her mother smiled as she pushed the three year old gently.
"Does that mean that he is on T.V.?" Yukiko grinned as she turned her head slightly to see her mother.
"No sweetie, Daddy doesn't like to be on T.V., but I'm sure one day he will make the headlines." Her smile faltered slightly as she continued to push the girl on the swing.
"Okay! I can't wait to finally see him!" The girl grinned as she faced forward.
Yukiko Sanada was a small girl with pale skin and wavy shoulder-length blonde hair with black tips. Her eyes were a bright blue, just like her mother's, and she didn't have a single blemish on her skin. She and her mother lived with her grandfather, Yakuji Sanada, in Tokyo, Japan. Originally, her mother, Yukino Sanada, was attending the famous U.A. High School in hopes of becoming a Pro Hero, but dropped out during her second year in order to take care of Yukiko.
"Oi! Yukino! Yukiko!" A male voice shouted from behind them.
"Hizashi? What are you doing here?" Yukino frowned as she turned to face the man.
"I was just in the area and happened to see you! Besides, it's been a while since I last saw you two." Hizashi grinned.
"Uncle Hizashi!" Yukiko beamed as she leaped from the swing and ran into the man's leg.
"Hey there, little Yukiko! Have you been behaving? How is school?" He asked as he lifted the girl up and rested her against his hip.
"Of course I have! I'm not really liking school though. There are too many kids there, and they make fun of my hair." She frowned slightly as she poked her bottom lip out.
"Don't let that bother you! They're just jealous that you have really cool hair and they don't!" Hizashi stated matter of factly while also pumping a fist into the air, causing the young girl to giggle.
"Hizashi, is it alright if we talk for a moment?" Yukino's voice brought the two's attention back to her.
"Of course. Why don't you go play over there while we talk, Yukiko." Hizashi smiled warmly as he set the girl back onto the ground.
"Okay!" The three year old shouted before darting towards the swings.
Sitting on the lone swing, she watched as her mother and Hizashi walked towards one of the few benches in the park and sit down. Unfortunately, from where Yukiko was seated, she could not hear what their conversation was. However, she could tell that her mother was upset about something. After watching their heated conversation, she took notice of her mother making her way back towards her but Hizashi remained seated on the bench.
