Trust

Sarah rested her head against him...taking in his masculine smell she couldn't actually believe  he was there with her...her head flooded with memories of  him..her time in the labyrinth,their encounters and exchanges..he stroked her back and whispered softly in her ear..she didn't quite hear him as her brain was overloaded with things she had blocked for so long.

"Why are you here?" She asked ..her voice muffled as he continued to hold her close.." you asked me to help you sarah...I've been waiting for  you to say the  words ...the  last time we spoke you broke my way of  being able to reach you.." came his wavering voice..he didn't know how she was going to react once she recovered from the shock..." I don't understand...if I blocked you ..how did you get here ??" Jareth sighed at this question ...he could  not let the girl know how he had been the last three  years...he was a king...and he could not let her see that pain ..not yet.

" my crystals showed me sarah...I saw you when you were dreaming...you asked for my help.." she cut him off as she pulled back..." but how comes I didnt remember you ? You've been here watching me all these days yet I didn't realise.." she closed her mouth as jareth walked to the window..he looked both sad and confused at the point she made..." I don't know...even goblin kings don't have all the answers..." he rubbed his forehead as he frowned..." not being able to contact you I knew would happen...the forgetting,the nightmares ? I don't know...it's  not normal labyrinth protocol... "  sighing,he gazed at her..she looked so beautifully lost...her eyes that normally held a fierce glare at him in the past now looked sorrowful and scared....she had lost a lot of weight and she was timid...a trait that his sarah had never been...he wished he had the answers she needed...he wished  he could fix it all but that was beyond even his powers.....

"Can you help me jareth"..she looked at him so sadly...maybe this man ...or whatever he was could be the only thing that would stop the nightmares...would make her life that bit better...

"I don't know .."he replied honestly...he could take her back with him..protect her,figure out what had happened..but would she want that? Would she trade this life she had here for that?? He thought it over as she watched him..."sarah.....I can offer my help...I will willingly offer you that...I said I would be there for you when your world falls down...." he didn't want to frighten her ...not when she was right there within his grasp" I can take you to the castle.."

"What castle ?" Her memories were so fuzzy she couldn't think what he meant..."the goblin castle sarah...beyond  the labyrinth..how could she had  forgotten so much?? None  of this made sense...

" if you decide to come with me sarah...you must consider it wisely...your family..your brother "...his voice  faded at the thought she may deny him.

"My family don't care...she would be glad to never see me again.." he knew she meant her stepmother.." you can't be certain of that sarah"..jareth chided gently , " it's true....the last three years have been awful...she was the one that moved me Miles from her....from Toby and my dad.." her eyes filled up again..." she told me I was going mad...she said I wasn't safe around Toby...I tried to tell them what had happened that night when you took Toby...they Locked me in my room for days...made me take pills to make me 'normal'...they wouldn't ..she wouldn't..let m  look after him...poor Toby...he doesn't understand..she's wicked to him...and my dad..she's brainwashed him...trust me..they won't notice I've gone... came her rambling answer...

"Then come with me sarah....try my kingdom...it may hold the answers you need"

"But Toby...." she sobbed as she tried to make her decision.

"I can bring you your brother...once you have  made your decision, you can wish for my goblins to take him ...but..but you have to be certain sarah...the only way back would be to run the  labyrinth...which I'm certain you would not want to face nor for Toby to face...." he instructed

"But..my parents?"....." I will use magick to erase their memory of you both" he answered quickly..."What do you say sarah ?" He was desperate now to get her away hoping she would trust him....impatient as she sat and thought..." I wish the goblin king would take me and Toby away" she spoke carefully as she brought her gaze to him...as his face broke into a smile...as the room filled with mist and the strong wind tore up the room while he grabbed her hands pulling her close....thunder crashed through the air as the pair held each other as they vanished into the glittering mist...
