I have known everything that comes and goes into my girl's life but hearing it from her perspective helps me in eliminating what I didn't see as a possible threat to her... and me.

"Oh. There's nothing that I haven't told you before. You know Elizabeth... I enjoy her company. She's more of a party girl where I seem to lag. She has again and again tried to persuade me to go to one with her but I have firmly declined her offer, which she of course respected but time and time again she tries me again..." My sweet girl chuckled and if that isn't the best thing I've heard today.

I can listen to her talking all day long.

Elizabeth seemed harmless and a friend that would complement Everlee but her trying to indulge Everlee in a party life, just irks me and will surely be her demise.

I wouldn't want Everlee to spend her college life alone. Now, would I?

She needs that girl by her side for now... so, I'm trying to tame my mind by feeding it excuses to let Elizabeth be with my sweet girl.

... and I also told you about Jacob..." A blush creeps up at her face that isn't directed at me or for me and that makes me so mad that my jaw tightens.

But I schooled my features, for her to not see my reactions as I always have. I bet the moment she sees me for who I am and not what I have been showing her, my innocent little Everlee with run up for the hills. So, she doesn't need to know.

And yeah. She told me about that fucking piece of shit, about a month ago when she started her college but before her, my men told me about him.

From what I knew, they just had a brief conversation, and some of her classes coincide with his.

So, what changed? Everlee. What fucking changed for you to blush like that... blush at just the mention of his name.

"Cain. Are you okay?" The feel of her soft little fingers on my hand brought me out of my mindless rage.

I held onto her fingers softly, "Yes, little one," as I smiled back at her. She eyed me for a while and on not finding anything that she could point out, she gave me a half smile back.

"Why don't you continue." I pointed towards her plate, while urging her to talk more about that piece of shit so I could come up with a conclusion for his future.

"... same old. Since he's a senior I don't see him often but I do have some of my business classes along with him. He's really helpful." She concedes, saving that boy from whatever I planned to do to him.

Whatever she told me about that boy, feels one-sided crush, and my naïve little girl doesn't seem to notice that about her too. But I cannot say the same for him.

I mean, who wouldn't in their right mind or wrong, would not fall head over heels for her.

She grew into an enchanting beauty.
