FIFTEEN YEARS BACK...

ASAEL
(Age Twenty)

Arien and I leaned against our car, our presence hidden by the trees and we watched the last of everyone leave one of my father's mansions after we sounded the fake fire alarms.

I am rebellious but in a responsible way. Hurting the innocent people is not my way.

On the other hand, making my father furious, well, that is fun.

Arien's phone started to ring and I saw Sierna's name flash as he picked it up.

"Ask her if everyone left", I whispered.

"Where are you and Asael?" I could hear her say on the other end, a smile forming on my lips instantly.

Arien and I both adored her. A lot. She was more like a real sister to me than a cousin.

"We are..." Arien looked at me, wondering as he scratched his neck. "...hanging out?"

"Hanging on the tree? Good for you both." She retorted making me chuckle.

Arien rolled his eyes. "Where are you?"

"We were at the party but it seems like someone sounded the fire alarms so everyone had to leave. It was a boring party in any case no offense to Uncle."

"Yeah." Arien chuckled. "Okay, we will be back later. Now, shoo." With that, Arien hung up the call.

One of my men came over to us. "Sir."

"Has everyone left?" I asked.

"Yes."

"You have checked each and every corner?"

"Yes, sir."

"Thank you. You all can leave now."

He nodded before leaving.

I pulled out my Zippo lighter and ignited it. "Ready?"

Arien shrugged. "I am just here for fun. Do it already."

Smirking, I threw the lighter at the house which was already doused in gasoline.

Fascinated, I watched how it quickly caught fire, spreading all over the house within minutes, the flames crackling as it engulfed the whole mansion.

I high-fived Arien as we both stood side by side watching it burn.

A minute later, I heard a scream.

I shared a confused look with Arien to make sure I wasn't the only one who heard it.

Then it came again. A cry for help. It sounded like a child's cry.

Fuck.

"Call the ambulance," I ordered Arien as I grabbed my face mask, putting it on.
