Laboratories worldwide toiled away, locked in a decades-long secret cold war, relentlessly striving to develop more effective detection methods, testing equipment, and treatments.
Countries sought innovative means to safeguard their citizens against increasingly deadly Coronavirus variants. This global arms race forged unprecedented alliances between nation-states, big pharma, and tech giants. Their shared mission: to inoculate the entire global population using cutting-edge miRNA technology. However, these new government and corporate alliances plunged the world into political and financial chaos.
The notion of sovereign nations faded away as global economics and trade eroded borders. In the UK and Free Europe, this erosion marked the catalyst for the burgeoning Freedom Movement-a resolute resistance against the emerging new world order.
The Great Reset of 2022 profoundly reshaped the modern world, offering tantalizing economic prospects. New financial alliances bolstered European super corporations, with big pharma emerging as the vanguards of these burgeoning markets. As the world teetered on the precipice of an uncertain future, the true motives behind these grand transformations remained shrouded in secrecy.
The United Kingdom seized the opportunity to forge ahead with its trade and business empire, emerging as a formidable global power from the shadows. However, the lack of transparency from the UK Department of Trade and blatant corruption among government officials ignited a massive public outcry. Scandal after scandal rocked the political elite, shattering the public's trust.
This outcry sparked open rebellions across England, with the public turning against their local authorities and the police. Violence reached unprecedented levels, and the streets slipped out of the police's control. Riots and civil uprisings erupted in major cities across Britain, plunging the nation into months of unprecedented civil unrest.
The unprepared British Army was thrust back onto the streets of the mainland, tasked with restoring peace and upholding law in the major cities amidst the desperate calls for protection and safety from the public. Following the Sunday revolution, amendments were
made to the Coronavirus Act of 2027, granting new emergency powers, including the deployment of British and AUS UK troops into major cities across the UK.
Becky, a young patriot, had enlisted in the Army after witnessing the devastating Woolwich Barracks Bombing, where a car bomb detonated next to the guardhouse wall, claimlives of four soldiers and six civilians. Like many others, Becky answered the call to arms after the Freedom Movement declared all-out war, spurred by the Northern Cities- Manchester, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, and Doncaster-declaring themselves as self-proclaimed free states in defiance of the government's draconian protection laws.
The civil unrest forced several changes to common law, viewed by the Freedom Movement as direct threats to their fundamental rights, further fuelling the ongoing conflict. As the situation escalated into what could only be described as war, the military's top brass determined the urgent need for a specialized unit to train troops for the emerging threats they faced.
In response, the top brass established IST (Integrated Special Tactics), a specialist unit focused on training troops to protect the public. This decision led to the resurrection of "Tin City," a training facility named after the corrugated metal roofs of its makeshift barracks.
"Tin City" was a fully functioning small town nestled within the grounds of Sennelargar Garrison. Rows of prefabricated houses stood alongside a post office, pub, garage, police station, school, and even a shopping centre. This sprawling complex was meticulously designed to mirror everyday life, providing an immersive training environment.
During active training cycles, troops from other units would inhabit the prefabricated houses, assuming the roles of the civilian population. The town bustled with activity as soldiers prepared to face the challenges of a nation in turmoil, their training reflecting the harsh realities they would soon confront on the streets.
These troops would be given roles like actors performing on a stage. Some were given the role offered normal citizens, others the role of antagonists and insurgents. Thousands of troops had gone through similar training, weeks of hard preparation getting them ready for the deployment to previous conflict zones across Northern Ireland.
This time, it was preparing troops for deployment to the mainland.
Becky was now amongst the numbers of the young soldiers that had passed through Tin City and was now on her way to the fight.
