Ps: The chapter is over 9k words so it can serve for more than ten days before 18, right? Sorry in advance, lovelies. Thank you for understanding🙏.OMNISCIENT
The place was swarthy and filled with the scent of an oppressive baccarat perfume. A man dressed in black sat resplendent on a brown Chesterfield chair, one of his sinewy arms, which tightly gripped a die was leisurely placed on the arm of the chair while the other held up the phone as he stared at a test report with an ominous smile playing on his lips.
99.99% matched with Mr Muhammad Babangida's fingerprints.
After more than a decade of staring at the report, he was about to put his phone away when a call came through. Seeing the person's name, he unhesitatingly accepted the call.
"Hello brother, something happened with my girl. I was wondering if you can help me out," Saif's voice came through, the man got straight to the point, something his brother is used to.
"Your girl?" The man questioned in a low voice. Saif could swear that he felt a chill of air engulf him when he heard his brother's voice.
"I-I mean, the girl you got married to," He stuttered.
"Alright, tell me, what occurred?" Maheer asked as he mindlessly played with the die in his hands.
"She has been accused of attempted murder from a catfish account. I've had the PR team lockdown the case but it was too late. Also, even I couldn't hack into the account or find out about it. What's more, this can not only make her lose her reputation but she can also be sent to a juvenile home. Even if Dad were to interfere, nothing would be done since many people have their eyes on the case," Saif ran his hands through his hair in frustration. Since Camila informed him about the issue, he became pensive and tried his best to curb the matter.
If he attempted to interfere in the matter, Sumaira could be framed for being in an affair with him. Even though he could tarnish his and his family's reputation, he didn't mind doing that, only that the innocent girl's prestige would be tainted and he didn't want that. At long last, he took on Adeena's advice and called Maheer. Since the guy blocked her due to the anger of his marriage, she wasn't able to access him.
"Let everyone talk, don't interfere," He instructed.
"What? If you won't have even an ounce of pity for her, you should have some for me. You've always given me everything I've wanted and protected me as an elder brother. If you can't save her because you hate her, at least save her since she'll be your future sister-in-law!" Saif spoke.
The sound of a hysterical laugh resonated through the walls of the room and the phone's speaker. It took a few seconds before it finally died down.
"Sister-in-law? I never taught you to fall in love with innocent-looking girls, they are highly deceptive and will be your detriment. You're allowed to court anyone else but her, you can't handle her," Maheer retorted after repressing the dire urge to act territorial.
"What if I prove that she's not that kind of person and make her fall in love with me?" He questioned.
"Alright... You can try," He ended the call as soon as he replied.
