OMNISCIENT

At the hospital, several family members who--upon their arrival--were met with the sad news of Saif's car accident-- came over. Luckily for them, the doctor said it wasn't too severe and he'd wake up soon. His mother and his sister were a sobbing mess, Waheeda had to be supported by her husband before she could lose it.

"The patient's awake, be careful not to do anything that'll trigger his emotions," The doctor announced and all of them nodded.

"I suggest for only close family members to enter," He added.

Waheeda and Adeena didn't think twice before bolting inside, followed by their husbands. Waheeda's sister, Abdullahi's brother and also their children were patiently waiting, all of them silently thanking God for making him wake up within such a short time.

"Where is Maheer in the midst of all this chaos? Is he going to keep being this way? Doesn't he care about his brother anymore? Or is he still sulking about his so-called marriage?" Waheeda's sister, Malika, ranted. She has always been the fierce, sharp-mouthed one. The type of woman you wouldn't want to mess with. Her love language is always discipline.

"Would you have been able to handle it if you were in his shoes? Tell me!" Akram roared. The two are opposites, on one hand,  he's trying to behave like a sensible elder and on the other, she always shuts him up. Today, he felt like doing the same to her.

"Calm down Akram, you know that sister-in-law doesn't have an idea about how it happened. She just heard the gist and not the whole story," His wife, Jiddah, chirped.

"Alright, fine," He scoffed.

"Yes fine," The woman huffed. They glared at each other for what seemed like forever before they heard the clicking sound of the camera, soon, their gazes turned to one person who raised his hands in surrender.

"How dare you?" Malika glared at Rahim who was barely able to stifle his laughter.

"Must you take a picture of everything?" Her daughter, Iqra, complained. She's calm and collected, unlike her mother who never keeps quiet.

"Yes, for memories. Don't come and ask me for any picture later since you're complaining now," He winked and turned to his phone with a smile. Gradually, the place became eerily silent until Akram spoke.

"Let me tell all of you what happened. You should prepare yourself as the groom's family," He uttered.

"So you still have sense?" Malika held her cheeks in deep thought.

"To all the responsible people, listen without interruption," He ignored her and carried on. His wife and the youngsters stifled their laughter, even in a situation like that, they still managed to make each other laugh.

Akram narrated all that he was told, without leaving even a single word out of it. By the time he finished, Malika, who had been holding in her anger, suddenly burst into tears. She had to be held by her daughter and Akram's wife who gently patted her back.

"Who is that sneaky witch? How dare she try causing a ruckus between the brothers? As long as I'm alive, I won't let her live in peace, she'll never live with my beloved nephew in peace!" She thundered.
