autumn cortez is kinda, sorta, just a little bit in love with jeremiah fisher. the only problem is that he hates her.
and supposedly, she "hates" him too. they've been "enemies" for the better part of a decade ever since she called him a tiny toad the summer before second grade because he was shorter than her. but the only reason she even said that was because she liked him. how was she supposed to know that calling him tiny and a toad was mean? she just wanted to be his friend.
as years pass, autumn's feelings for jeremiah only grow. and with that, so does their rivalry. it becomes quite clear that autumn will never be able to change jeremiah's feelings for her; they are far too deep in this hatred thing they've got going in.
summer after summer, her gaze clings to the blonde blue-eyed boy who has made a permanent home for himself in her heart despite all her exes saying she is too cold-hearted to ever love someone else.
