Broken Peace

Entry 549:

That's it.

I don't know who broke into Sabre's house, but I don't feel safe anymore.  I'm sick of waiting for Researcher to do his job.  I'm taking down The First Curse.

Maybe, after he's dead, we can finally live in peace.  There will be no Dread Steve.  No Void Steve.  No darkness at all.

I will never have to face the end of the world again, and neither will Sabre.

I'm the Red Leader.  It's my job to take down threats to my people.

I've waited for too long already.

I just hope I make it out of this alive.

I stooped down, gathering an armful of the notebooks.  Flipping to the front cover, I quickly scanned the number.

"Cycle 3,493"  I reported, handing it off to Tonic, who quickly slotted it into the right place on the shelf.  The work was tedious, but the others had agreed to help me.  It felt nice to work with them again.

We were currently trying to clean up my mess of a room.  By 'we' I meant Tonic, Lime, and I.  Amber and Unstable had already been kicked out for their chaotic energy, with Turquoise as their supervisor.  Also, Amber had been getting very distracted with flipping through the notes, looking for pictures.

"Cycle 7,269"  I handed the next to Lime.  His eyebrows shot up.

"This whole thing is making me realize how old you are."  He laughed.  "I don't think I've lived that many days, Sabre."

"Gee, thanks."  I said dryly, but smiled nonetheless.  My age had stopped bothering me early on.  It was more of a joke between Hypno and I at this point.

Speaking of...

"Hypno!"  The explosive sound of Unstable's excitement announced my friend's presence.  He must have teleported in from outside, where we couldn't hear the lightning.

"Hey, haven't we talked about the tackling?"  Hypno scolded, his glitchy voice muffled.

"Have you come to help Sabre?"  Turquoise asked curiously.  I poked my head through the doorway.

"Yeah, Hypno, have you come to help?"  I asked pointedly.  He rolled his eye, prying a bright violet Unstable off of himself.

"What am I helping with?"

"My room."  I opened the door to show the pile of books still remaining on the floor.

"Yeah, no thanks.  I'll stay here with the pranksters."  Hypno wrapped an arm around Amber and Unstable, who both looked excited.

"We get to prank someone?"  Amber bubbled.

"Hypno..."  I warned.

"I wanna prank!"  Unstable agreed instantly, and Hypno flinched away as both steves crackled with excited energy.

"I'm not replacing my sink again."  Turquoise retorted, locking eyes with the former Red Leader.

"Okay fine..."  Hypno sighed.  "I've already done my prank for the day anyway."

Turquoise began to scold Hypno, and I turned back to the room, where Lime and Tonic waited with bemused expressions.  I picked up the next notebook, sliding it back where it belonged.

"I think that's it."  Lime announced.  I watched as he put the last three books back.  My room was finally back to normal.

"Still no clue on who broke in?"  Hypno asked quietly.
