Entry 550:

I can't believe it.

Everything was going perfectly.  Everything would have gone perfectly if Dream hadn't frozen up like a deer in headlights.

I was so close to killing him.  Only a few more minutes and he would have passed out in that burning building and died.  If Dream had just prepared his final attack, it would all be over.

But no.

Now, he is alive, and I don't know how weak.  I can assume I have a few more days before he starts to retaliate.  After all, he saw me.

What will Sabre think?

I'm not going to tell him just yet.  He has enough on his plate, and I don't think The First Curse can track me down.  He couldn't before.

I thought I could do this.  But it looks like I can't.

Now, all I can hope is that I haven't just put Sabre and the village at risk as well.

----------------------------------------------------------

The endless blue sky of the World Beyond was soothing.  The thick layer of snow sent a numbing sensation through my skin, soothing the burns.  The black spots in my vision were slowly fading away.

I didn't know how long I had been unconscious.  I had barely managed to teleport away from that place.  From my home.  Memories of purple flames scorched my mind as I remembered how my library had burned.  I hid my face further in the snow, trying to ice out the thoughts.

"Blessing?"  I blinked up to see Blue blinking down at me, alarmed.  "Oh Origin, what happened to you?"  Carefully, he propped me up into a sitting position, eyes trailing along my burned skin.

"My brother set fire to my home."  I said in a deadpan voice.  The color drained from Blue's face.

"He did what!?"  Blue looked around, scanning the snowy white landscape for spirits I couldn't see.  "Hold on a second, let me see if I can find a Green Steve spirit."

"Don't worry about it."  I said quickly.  It was childish, but I didn't want anyone else seeing me like this.  "I can manage."

"Blessing-"

"Blue, it's fine."  I insisted, placing a hand on his shoulder.  Worry crossed his expression.

"Do... you want me to get Azure?"  He asked more quietly.  I thought it over for a second before nodding.  It had been a while since I had last seen my friend, and maybe he could bring me news of my Obsidian Steves.

Maybe he knew about the steve who had attacked me.

Blue nodded, before rushing off in a whirl of snow, leaving me to stand alone.  I winced as the numbing sensation in my back slowly faded, leaving me to once again feel the burns.

For the first time, I actually looked down at myself.

The purple flames had left purple-colored burns over my skin, and I almost laughed.  I looked more like my Obsidian Steves than ever.  The red fabric of my robe was charred and burned away in places, drooping sadly off of my left shoulder.  I frowned.  No wonder Blue was worried.

I would fix it now if I still had the energy.

I sighed, readjusting the clothing as best I could to look presentable.  There was nothing I could do about the burns.

"Blessing?"  Azure's voice was barely a squeak.  I glanced up quickly, meeting his deep blue eyes.

"Hey."  I tried to smile, but it dropped quickly.  Azure copied the expression, wrapping his arms around himself.
