Keepsake

Darlig ulv stranden. Bad Wolf Bay. It was ironic, how Rose Tyler and the Tenth Doctor had met through the Bad Wolf, and now they were saying their last goodbyes at Bad Wolf Bay. The car stopped, along with Rose's heart. She ran to the beach and looked around hopefully for her Doctor. "Rose," he said softly. She whirled around. "Doctor," she said, voice breaking. She ran to hug him. "I'm not solid," he said, "This needs a lot of power. I'm burning up a star just to say goodbye," he choked out. She stared up at a her whole world. It was fading away. "I love you," she sobbed. Tears were falling down both their cheeks. "Quite right too," he said, "and- wait." He fished in his pockets for something. "I want to give you this," he said. He held a small locket with a Gallifreyan engraving. "I meant to give it to you," he said, placing it in her hand. "I'm using enough power to give you this, so... you won't forget me." he whispered. "And if it's my last chance to say it, Rose Tyler, I" he faded away. Rose had a sudden flashback. "You won't fade away, will you?" she had teasingly asked her old Doctor, the one with the big ears. "Of course not," he had said with a wink and a goofy grin. Now she was on the beach with a locket and no Doctor. Her hands shook as she opened the locket. Inside was the most beautiful piece of crystal she had ever seen. It flashed all colors and went from one to another seamlessly. Jackie ran up to her daughter. Everything sort of wasn't there anymore. None of it mattered. Her Doctor was gone.

"We need a source of power," Pete said. They were building a device to transport Rose back to the Doctor's dimension and save him from the darkness. Rose had never taken the locket off from the day he had given it to her. She absentmindedly opened and closed it. "Wait, what's that," Pete said as Rose toyed with her locket. "It's my keepsake," said Rose. "Let me see it," Pete said. She reluctantly handed over her one memory of her Doctor. "I don't believe it!" Pete exclaimed, "This is putting off enough power to charge the device!" Rose was excited, but also sad. "Will it destroy my locket?" she asked. "I don't think so," replied Pete. They charged up the device and Rose got inside. It activated the dormant Bad Wolf inside her and pushed her towards her beloved Doctor. When she got there, the locket was in her hand.

She was back in Bad Wolf Bay with her Doctor and... not her Doctor? He kissed her. He told her he loved her. She missed her old Doctor. The Bad Wolf inside showed her this Doctor would not last long. Few weeks, at most. But there was one thing..."Doctor, what does this engraving mean?"she asked quietly. He turned around. "It means... 'I love you, Rose Tyler'." He answered. Then he turned around and got in his TARDIS. "And I always will!" he shouted over the noise. Then he was gone. Forever.
