The team upon learning about Cobb's situation try to figure out a way to free him. Eames suggests waking him up, to which Arthur reminds him of how a dream built from one's memory is the easiest way for one to lose grasp of reality and dream. Cobb is now in too deep, and waking him up can disrupt his sense of reality, just like it disrupted Mal's. The only way to free him is by reminding him of the real world from inside his dream. As Arthur was about to hook himself to the PASIV device which was connected to Cobb, Saito interrupts him bringing the news that Maurice Fischer has died, and his son, Robert is supposed to escort his father's casket back to Los Angeles on the 10-hour flight from Sydney. Upon learning about Cobb's unavailability, Saito grows impatient and clues them in of the power he holds and how he could easily ruin their lives. Arthur loses his cool and attempts to throw a punch at Saito, but Saito's men get the better of him. Eames makes an effort to cool down the situation and assures him that the job would be carried out with or without Cobb.
