As I hugged Lily tightly, feeling her warmth and comfort, a strange sensation washed over me. It was as if the darkness I had been fighting against wasn't entirely gone.

I shook off the feeling, attributing it to the residual fear and uncertainty from the battle. But as I looked around, I realized that something was off.

The world was too quiet, too still. It was as if time had stopped.

Lily noticed it too, her grip on me tightening. "What's going on?" she asked, her voice trembling.

I didn't have an answer. All I knew was that something wasn't right.

As we began to walk, we soon realized that we were alone. There was no one else around, no signs of life anywhere.

Panic set in as we realized we were truly alone in a deserted world.

Suddenly, a sound echoed through the silence. A sound like hissing, coming from every direction.

My heart raced as I turned to Lily, only to see her face twist and contort. In mere seconds, it morphed into a grotesque, monstrous being.

I stumbled back, horrified at what was happening.

Her voice came out distorted and inhuman. "I'm sorry," she hissed, lunging forward.

I dodged, only to find myself face to face with another monster. All around me, the once familiar world warped and twisted as the monsters closed in.

It was then that I realized that the monsters were the beings from the other world, and the portal was still open.

I was trapped in a nightmare that I could never escape.

As the creatures closed in, a sense of hopelessness consumed me.

Maybe there was no light in the darkness after all. Maybe there was only endless terror and despair.
