<<¿Qué carajo?>> he hissed against the woman. The tension in the room was palpable as Miguel stood before Angel, anger seething within him. He spat, his voice laced with fury <<Are you crazy or what?>>.
Angel's eyes widened in surprise <<Miguel I did it for us, me and you.>> she looked at him. He scoffed, looking away then at her <<I repeated more and more times, I don't want have anything to do you you!>>.
<<Have you forgotted the memories we made together?>> she tried to make him think again of what he was doing <<Our bond moments, our laughs? Our love.>>.
He frowed <<If you truly loved me, you wouldn't have lied or acted like that. If you cared about our love, you would have at least asked about our daughter. You are nothing for me.>>
Angel stopped smiling. Her heart sinking as Miguel's words cut through her like a knife. She pleaded with him, her voice shaking, <<Miguel, please, I didn't mean for->>
But Miguel's anger was too potent to be quelled by her feeble apologies <<You crossed a line, Angel. Your actions have consequences>> he declared, his voice firm and resolute <<For the way you acted, I can't have you working with me. You're fired.>>
Tears welled up in Angel's eyes, a mix of regret and desperation flowing through her <<Please, Miguel, I'm sorry. I'll do anything to make it right>> she pleaded, her voice trembling with fear of the unknown. Maybe she was faking. Maybe she wasn't. Who knew?
Miguel's face hardened, his decision unwavering <<It's too late. Your actions have consequences, and you must face them.>> he replied sternly, his tone leaving no room for negotiation <<You need to leave.>>.

Days passed slowly in Greece for Miguel. Each moment filled with a sense of longing and regret. Miguel tried to reach out to Y/n repeatedly, seeking forgiveness and a chance to make amends. Yet, each time, she stopped him or handed the phone to Gabriella, their daughter, denying him the solace of their connection.
The only thing his lover would tell him was <<We'll talk once you are back.>>.

Finally, the day arrived when Miguel returned home, his heart heavy with the weight of the recent events. As he stepped through the door, he was met with the warm embrace of his daughter, Gabriella, who clung to him tightly, exclaiming <<Papa, I missed you so much!>>.
He hugged her back tightly. He missed her voice, her hugs, her smell, her smile. His little love was there.
<<I missed you too, mija.>> he smiled. He gave her a bag, inside of it the present he promised to take her.
Y/n stood by their side watching the scene. She loved seeing them like this. But every time he thought of what happened to the phone, she would feel sadness.
Her eyes locked with Miguel's, a mixture of love, hurt, and uncertainty etched upon her face. It was clear that they needed to talk, to address the betrayal and deceit that had driven a wedge between them.
As Gabriella released her grip, Miguel slowly walked to her. He really wanted to gently pull her into his arms, needing the reassurance of her presence. But it wasn't the right moment.
<<Can we talk?>> he whispered, his voice filled with remorse. Gabriella didn't know anything of what happened between them.
Y/n's gaze shiften on his face, her heart torn between the pain of betrayal and the love she held for Miguel <<Yes, we need to.>> she said, her voice a mix of vulnerability and determination.
They retreated to the living room, aware of the difficult conversation that awaited them. The air was filled with a sense of uncertainty.
Gabriella ran to her bedroom, playing with the toys that Miguel took her.
They sat quietly, as Y/n asked <<You were with Angel. And you haven't told me.>> her voice was low
<<I met her at work.>> he admitted <<New coworker came and she was there. I didn't even know.>>.
Y/n looked at him. She was not going to cry in front of him.
<<But since when you knew it?>> she asked. He took a deep breath an cleared his throath <<One month.>>.
She layed back in her seat as he looked down at his feet, he looked up at her <<I didn't want to piss you off, that's why I kept it from you.>>.
She sighed as she took a deep breath <<I thought our relationship was based on honesty, trust, respect and mostly on open communication.>> she held her hands together.
<<It is. It is based on it but...>> Miguel felt so vulnerable around her, expecially in this moment. He was wrong and he knew it.
<<Then why did you cheat on me?>> Y/n voice was too calm to confront him.
His eyes widen <<I did not cheat on you. I would never.>>.
She nods no with her head <<Angel made it clear that you were sleeping and she was... sleeping with you.>> she hesitated, looking around to make sure Gabriella wasn't listening.
Miguel nodded no and held her hand, causing them calm down a little and both of their heart to speed up <<No cariño. I promise I never touched her and she never touched me.>> he stroked her hands softly <<She came to borrow my hairdrier and I don't know how, but she stole my phone from my bedroom and I didn't realize. When I noticed it was missing, I immediately connected the dots and I went straight to have it back.>>.
From all the past relationship Y/n had, she always knew when their partner were lying: some would look away, some would touch their nose or would stay quiet. And she knew also when Miguel was lying: he was various when they talked together and he would usually break the eye contact. She noticed that before he went to Greece, he was various on the questions like "how was your day at work?" or "are you all right?".
But now, face to face, he held eye contact anf he eas extremally detailed on what happened. He was not lying.
<<I am so sorry to have not told you about it sooner.>> he spoke. Y/n was calmed down already, meanwhile Miguel was not. He was still nervous. He didn't realize that, even with no communication, she forgave him <<I fired her. She wasn't good anyway and she never asked about Gabriella so->>. But he got interrupted by her, when she leaned closer to him and kissed his cheek softly. His eyes widened and softened, as he felt her lips still there.
<<I forgive you.>> she whispered, as she held his hands now, slowly rubbing them together.
<<Really?>> he whispered too.
<<Hm.>> she nodded.
The corner of his lips curved up as he kissed her hands <<Thank you so much, mi amor...>>. Then he smiled to her as he asked.
At this point Miguel still felt slightly guilty but a bit better as Y/n felt not hurt anymore, but loved. Miguel couldn't help but kiss her on the lips. He wanted to do it since he came back to his house. Maybe since she started working for him too.
<<I promise I'll always tell you everything from now on.>> he said. And she smiled, nodding <<I believe you.>>.
Communication is the key.
