POV Logan:

I'm talking to Alex when I see him looking past me. Two hands appear in front of me. "Guess who?" I laugh and turn around. "What a surprise, those beautiful pink nails belong to James, of course." Alex and I laugh at my joke as Lizzy sticks her tongue out at me. "I'd be careful with that if I were you, I'll bite it off soon." I finally hug her and she smiles at me as I let her go. "It can't stay a secret here for long." She says and I know exactly what she means. "Yeah, I had to say something, James would have found out anyway." "Liz, are you sure you're all right?" Alex asks her. She shrugs. "I'm exhausted, but I don't dare sleep at home." "Wait, I'll arrange something!" Alex walks away without saying anything, his cell phone to his ear. "You haven't told him about our kiss, have you?" She asks me and I shake my head. "It's none of his business. Besides, I promised you a better kiss and it will definitely come." I see the corners of her mouth turn up.

Alex comes back a little later and I don't like the smile on his face. "You guys don't have any plans, do you?" I shake my head and look at Lizzy. "No, that was my last appointment for today, why?" "Well then you can come with me now." Alex says, the smile on his face getting wider. "You're going to love this!" I look at Lizzy who looks at me as surprised as I look at her, she shakes her head and shrugs, we follow Alex outside. "I'll text you my address and meet you there in an hour, then you can get some stuff from home." "Alex, what do you mean, what do we need?" I finally ask him anyway. "Good that you mentioned it, especially don't forget your toothbrush." He smiles again. "That sounds like a slumber party." Lizzy says and I laugh. "Aren't we a little old for that?" I get punched in the arm. "You're never too old to have fun, Logan." I roll my eyes, but somehow I have to laugh. "I'll join you up front." I tell Lizzy and get a kiss on the cheek. "All right, see you in an hour!" Alex gets into his car and drives off. "I think this was Lily's idea." Lizzy says laughing. "We'll see. By the way, do you want me to drive you to your house first?" She shakes her head again. "No, you won't make it in an hour, if there's anything I'll let you know right away, thanks." I watch as she walks to her car and gets in, waving to her as she drives away, and then quickly head home myself.

When I arrive at my apartment, I see lights on through the windows of my apartment, I don't remember leaving them on. I quickly park my car in front of the door, get out and run up the stairs, arriving at my hallway, I cannot get through because the hallway is blocked off with police tape. "This is the guy who lives here." I see my landlord coming down the hall and look at him with a raised eyebrow. "Is something wrong?" The tape is lifted in front of me and together with my landlord and the police we walk to the front door of my house, I am startled to see that it is open and there is a handprint in blood on the door. "What happened here?" I feel the color drain from my face. "We would like to know that too, are you arguing with someone?" I immediately think of Dominic, but that seems like a long shot. "No, I don't know." "Maybe it's someone who knows who he is and thought there was expensive stuff here." Says the cop next to me. "My expensive stuff didn't move with me, it's at my parents' house. Can I take a look? I don't have much time." I am looked at with difficulty. "One look is enough, then we can see if you're missing anything, but I think you should postpone your plans for tonight." The officer says to me. I pluck up courage and go inside, and the first thing I notice are the broken mirrors. Why would you break them? My bedroom is totally trashed, but I feel like nothing was taken.

POV Alex:

I have tried to call Logan several times, but I keep getting voicemail. "Lizzy, have you heard from Logan?" She shakes her head, looking a little worried. Lizzy came in with a white face and a letter in her hands, Lily took care of her immediately and I've been trying to contact Logan ever since. "What was in the letter, Liz?" I watch as Lizzy slides the letter across the table to Lily and I watch her posture. "Oh, but... Oh no... That can't be..." My curiosity piqued, I walk over to the table and stand behind Lily to read a bit. "Geez, Liz, this can't be. Who is this from?" She shrugs, I look further into the envelope and see a picture of her and Logan from a few weeks ago, it seems because of the date on it. I sit down at the table with them, what should have been a nice evening to just relax together has turned out completely different than I thought. "Lily, give me that letter again." She pushes the letter over to me and reads it again carefully.

'This spreading fog inside my skull, makes every egde seem soft and dull. It blurrs the outlines of reason, can fuse together every season.I stumble, and tumble, yet I stay. Refusing to look up or walk away. Mirror, mirror on the wall let this be a warning to you all, because next time I don't know what I will do.'

"What is this vague letter? And with this picture attached? And what is this? It looks like a piece of a mirror. "Before Lizzy can speak I see the screen of my cell phone light up and see Logan's number appear, I quickly pick it up and walk out of the room. I listen to a hurried Logan and can't make out what he's talking about, something about blood and breaking in and that he's on his way. I let him finish and ask him later what's going on. "Logan's on his way." I see the relief on Lizzy's face, she's trying hard not to laugh when she knows he's on his way.

POV Lizzy:

A whole bunch of worries fall away when I feel Logan's arms come around me as he finally walks in. "This isn't what I expected from the evening, sorry I'm so late, but someone thought it would be a good idea to break into my house today." I look at Logan questioningly, "What do you mean?" I ask him again. "My house was broken into and there's a bloody handprint on my front door. When I came in, all my mirrors were smashed, but nothing of value was taken." "Mirrors?" I ask looking at the shiny piece of glass on the table in front of us, I exchange a look with Lily and we both think the same thing. "Mirrors?" "Yes Lily, mirrors." He says a little irritated. "That's quite a coincidence..."Lily falls silent and pushes the piece of mirror on the table in Logan's direction. "Mirror." She says as he picks it up. "Where did you get that?" Logan looks at me and I hand him the letter I found in my mailbox when I got home. "Okay, what am I supposed to do with this? I don't understand any of it." "It's a vague poem." Alex says, looking at the paper that is now on the table, and I hand Logan the picture that came with it and see him grit his teeth. "I think I know exactly what and who is behind this. But we can't do anything without proof."

We try to make something out of it, even though the evening didn't start the way we hoped, we order food and put on a movie, I sit on the couch against Logan and he has his arm around me and plays with my hair, even though I'm glad I don't have to sleep at home tonight, I'm still worried. "You shouldn't keep thinking about it, I know it's hard but just let it go for a few hours." Logan whispers in my ear, his voice so close I get goosebumps.

When Alex and Lily go to bed after the movie, Alex quickly tells us where we can find everything in the house and where we can sleep. "I guess you don't mind sharing a room." Was his comment as he showed us the room. "Will do Alex, thanks." I say and he disappears into his own room. I'm still not at all tired and all kinds of thoughts are running through my head, I don't want to believe that Dominic has anything to do with this, but Logan seems to be sure of his case.
