POV Dominic:
It is late in the evening when my cell phone rings for the third time, I turn to my bedside table with a painful groan and look with sleepy eyes at the number on the screen, it is Richard, I push him away, after he hung up in the middle of our conversation this afternoon I don't feel like talking to him, especially this late at night. I put my phone on airplane mode and turn around. Luckily, Willow went to her parents' house today and is staying there too, which gives me a chance to work out some ideas tonight. I try to fall asleep again, but I can't, because a few days ago I had a lot of pain in my shoulder, because I slipped in the bathroom after taking a shower. I sit up in bed and turn on the TV, maybe I will get tired again later.
I wake up in the morning and hear the front door closing, I didn't expect Willow to be back so early, I quickly get out of bed and put on my sweatpants and go into the living room. "Why can't I reach you? I keep getting your voicemail!" Willow's eyes seem to spit fire, but it doesn't bother me too much. "I needed some rest and Richard kept calling me, so I went into airplane mode, was something wrong?" I ask her indifferently. "My parents wanted to know when you were coming to see them?" "Hmm... I don't know, I'm pretty busy." "Busy with what? You spend the whole day in the basement, what are you doing there?" "Nothing special." "If it's nothing special, why is the door always locked when you leave and I don't have the keys?" "Because you don't need to know everything, Willow. Pfff this is a nice way to wake up, if you're going to sit around and whine all day you might as well go back to your parents." Offended, she walks past me to the bathroom to empty her suitcase.
It's not until sometime in the afternoon that I take my phone out of airplane mode and get all the messages I've missed in the last few hours, Richard has called me a couple of times and then texted me, when I read his messages I decide to call him back right away because I don't really like Logan playing detective by asking Richard questions about me and my relationship with Lizzy. Richard tells me that he told a story in which he positioned himself in such a way that he and I no longer have contact, now I hope that Logan believes it.
I'm working on another plan when I hear a knock at the basement door. "Dominic, I need your help!" I hear Willow call out to me. With a sigh I get up from my desk and slowly walk upstairs, it must be something she could have easily done herself, like opening a jar or putting something on top of something. When I get upstairs it is indeed one of those tasks and I sigh. "Why do you always have to do these things when I'm at work?" "Work? You call what you do downstairs work?" I roll my eyes. "Don't go there, Willow! Not today, I'm not in the mood for your whining." With that I turn and go back to the basement to finish my plans.
POV Lily:
After Alex's accident I decided not to go with him for a while, luckily he wasn't hurt and he went to the next location with Logan. I invited Lizzy to come over this weekend so we could go out together and watch the race on Sunday. I'm glad that I won't be alone this weekend and that I can gossip with Lizzy.
On Saturday afternoon Lizzy is at the door earlier than I expected and when I let her in she looks terrible. "Jesus Liz, you look so bad! Has something happened again?" I let her in and let her sit on the couch. "I haven't been sleeping well for a few nights Liz, Alex's accident was a mistake." I look at her questioningly. "Richard gave Alex's car the update from Logan, Logan was supposed to crash, I know for sure, but I have no proof, no one believes me, not even Logan." I let Lizzy tell her story and listen to what she has to say, I believe her as soon as she finishes. "Alex doesn't make mistakes like that either, he's been driving too long for that, I knew the new guy in your company couldn't be trusted, I thought he looked like a creep." I see the relief on Lizzy's face when I'm done talking. "James doesn't believe me and Logan is busy with something but he's keeping it a secret." I shrug, I don't know how to support her. "You know what Liz, let's go shopping and get new outfits for the evening and then we'll have some fun together and forget about our worries." Lizzy laughs and nods in agreement.
Lizzy and I get ready to go shopping, I offered to drive so we don't have to go with 2 cars unnecessarily. Arrived in the city I notice that Lizzy has calmed down a bit and finally feels like herself again, I am dragged to different clothing stores and I let her choose an outfit for me, but she had to promise me that I could choose something for her, she was fine with that, we have the most fun together and I hope that this will continue for the rest of the day and certainly in the evening.
POV Willow:
I was standing in line at a nearby club when I saw two girls walk in who looked very familiar, and one of my friends elbowed me in the side. "Willow, please don't go looking for trouble tonight. " I wave away her comment, I wasn't planning anything. Once inside the club we go to the bar to get drinks. When we are at the bar I see the girls I had already noticed on the other side, it is Lizzy with a friend, it is an Asian girl and if I am not mistaken it is Lily, I have heard Dominic talking about her, in fact all the conversations I have with him are about his ex Lizzy.
After a few drinks I told my friends I was going to the bathroom for a while, I saw Lizzy walking in that direction and hoped to meet her there so I could talk to her. Luckily I met her just as she came out of the bathroom, I pretended to wash my hands and grabbed the sink next to her, she looked up and we made eye contact. "You're Lizzy, right?" She looked at me startled. "I'm Willow, Dominic's girlfriend." Hearing his name, she takes a step back. "Oh." Is the only thing she manages to say. On the one hand I want to be angry with her, but on the other I find her pathetic. "You dated that F1 driver Logan, right?" She shakes her head. "So you're over Dominic?" "Yeah, a long time ago, although I doubt he's over me." This statement does not sit well with me. "What do you mean?" "Oh, didn't you know he's been stalking me for months..." I am reminded of the nights he works late on his project in the basement and his late night phone calls. "You're out of your mind! Dominic wants nothing more to do with you." She shrugs, where does she get the nerve to talk to me like that? Trying to hold back my anger, I turn and walk back to my friends.
