I walk down the stairs in my cap and gown where the guys wait for me. "Y/N! You look so good." Kai says running up to hug me. "You grow up so fast." Agent says wiping away fake tears. "Are those my shoes?" Kai says looking down at my Bart Simpson dunks. "Nope." I lie. "Aight, let's get moving." Duke says. They all agreed to drive me.
I've been going to high school while I've been living at the AMP house. I only have about four days of school left and the guys have been taking pictures the whole way through. They've known me since I was sixteen, streaming in my basement. When I turned eighteen, they invited me to join the house. That's why we're so close, even though I've only lived here for about six months.
I look out the window on the way to my school and swallow nervously. "You shouldn't be scared. Just walk up on that stage and smile." he says holding my hand in reassurance. I nod. "There's nothing to be afraid of." Kai says from the back seat. "Unless you fall." Fanum adds. Kai punches him in the shoulder. "What? I knew a brother from my high school who full on face planted on stage. So embarrassing!" he says laughing at the memory. "You really think I could fall? I didn't wear heels so I thought I would be okay." I say spiraling. "Calm down, I promise you won't fall." Duke says pulling into my school. We park and Duke turns off the car. "We'll be right in the audience." Duke smiles. "Right, I can do this." I say grabbing my phone and opening the door. "Good luck, Y/N!" Fanum yells as I walk towards the school doors.
I stand with my friends and wait in line until they re-arrange us in alphabetical order. I stand in line smoothing my outfit. I take a deep breath and walk out with the rest of my peers to sit in the folding chairs in the front of the gym.
(Duke's POV):
Fanum, Kai, Davis, Agent, Chris, and I take the seats right at the front row. "Yo, I can't believe she's growing up." Chris says, wiping his face. "Are you crying, nigga?" Kai asks. "Nah, nah, it's allergies. On god." he says sniffling. A middle aged couple sit beside us. Kai and I side eye them. I flip to the part of the program they handed out to Y/N's section. It has her quote and her picture. "God did!" I read aloud. I take out my phone and take a picture. God did. The lights dim and kids start walking on stage.
A couple of kids later, Y/N walks on stage. She waves at us and grabs her diploma. The guys and I quickly snap pictures as she shakes her teacher's hands. We all stand up and clap as she walks off stage. The couple next to use snaps pictures and the woman cries. Kai leans over and starts talking to them. "Is that one yours?" he asks. "Yes, that's my little baby girl!" she says crying. Kai leans back over to his seat. He whispers it in Fanum's ear and then it travels down the line. They all lean out of their seats and look. "If you fools don't stop." I say pushing them back in their seats.
(Back to Y/N's POV):
I say good bye to my friends and grab my stuff before heading into the lobby to meet the boys. "Y/N!" they all yell. "God did!" I yell as I wave around my diploma. "God did!" they respond hugging me. "Y/N?" I hear a small voice say. I turn around and see..........my mom. Shit.
