Nami

The night was chilly, a few clouds were preventing the sight of the beautiful almost full moon. The air was fresh and cold. I could smell the ocean as well as forest and dirt. It was also combined with the aroma of the night, the same that each night was filled with. I closed my eyes and took a big breath. My other senses begun their awakening. I felt the sand beneath my butt and feet, bringing my legs closer to her chest. I grabbed a handful of the golden dust and rubbing it in her palm I let it fall in a pile. I could now hear the crushing waves and it soothed my heart. The water was rushing and I could hear each thrust.

Another sound interupted my hearing. It was a long and deep howling sound coming from the mountains. I felt scared and uneasy. I opened my eyes searching for the one person that helps me at all times to assure myself that everything is gonna be alright. I found him. He was lying on a tree root with his head and torso resting on the tree. His dry straw hat was shadowing his eyes and it seemed like he had fallen asleep.

However, the rise and falling of his chest could not fool me. I spend a few seconds starring at his figure his torso was neked and his strong muscles were glistening under the moonlight his arms were resting on his lap with his palm hanging on the inside of his thighs. I could see his wounded knuckles from the punches he's been giving to those villains in the new world and speaking of scars, the big X on his chest looked painful. I've always wanted to touch it and trace it with my fingers but that's inappropriate between two crew mates although I bet he wouldn't mind. I got up and stepped closer finally sitting next to him.

"What are you thinking about, Luffy?" I spoke carefully and calmly so to not wake anyone else up.

"Nami" he said tilting his head upwords to meet my eyes. He then turned his glaze towards the sea and mumbled "Sunny... I hope she makes it"

"She will! We have the best carpenter and she's strong. She's a crew mate of ours after all"

"You think so?" He asked me looking back at me again with a spark of hope in his big brown eyes.

"Yes! Don't doubt that."

He smiled satisfied with my answere. My mind couldn't help but return back to last night's events...

We had the upper hand in the fight against Fujitora. Luffy, Zoro and Sanji were doing their best fighting the Navy and the rest of us were supporting them fighting common soldiers. However, it was a fight on the sea and that was making things more difficult. Fujitora used his final move. He raised huge rocks from the sea in the air with the power of his devil fruit and threw them with extreme gravity force onto our ship destroying one mast and punching holes onto the deck. I could still feel the agony on everyone's faces and especially Luffy's. He still wasn't over with his fight but he had a severely wounded crewmate and knew he had to run away. His eyes hid so many feelings. He pulled back his fist ready to throw another punch until Zoro spoke up.

"We need to leave, Luffy. You are the captain. Make sure to take the right decision."

Luffy contemplated and the logical side of him won thanks to his vice captain's words. We managed to escape with the help of the wind and "Coup De Burst" and we desperately searched for a new island. This was the only one around and we docked here for as long as Franky needed to repair Sunny.

Luffy was feeling down since then and I could tell. He tried covering his feelings with his big smile and optimistic attitude but deep inside I could see that he was hurting. I wanted to help but it was obvious that he needed space since he removed himself from every gathering the crew was having.

The sun had started to rise in the horizon and me and Luffy got caught in the mesmerizing beauty of the sunrise. We sat there in a comforting silence and deep in our thoughts experiencing the start of a new day.

I was captivated by the vast sea and fell fast asleep relaxing to the music of this island.
