(Y/N) pov:

I groaned as I woke up. I opened my eyes and saw the ceiling. My body began to ache in pain as I slowly got up. Sleeping on the couch really sucks balls. Especially when you're in a place where you gotta move quickly. I sat up. I just sat on the couch, drowsy and tired. I knew I had to get back on track. I stood up and turned around.

I saw Cherri around the corner, looking at me with a grin. She startled me. "Good morning, Newbie! Have a good sleep?" She asked me.

I rubbed my head and looked down to the side in embarrassment. "Oh, me? A little bit..." I said, trying not to offend her.

She just giggled. "What do ya mean, "A little?" She asked me.

"Sleeping on the couch ain't really the most comfortable place to crash. But, hey! I'm still alive and kicking... hardly...." I muttered.

Cherri was in the kitchen area, grabbing herself a snack. I did admire her look. She was wearing a pink and white robe and she had her hair tied back. She looked good in anything pink, to be honest.

She turned around, munching on a celery stick. "So what now?" She asked me through eating.

I looked down to the side and made a seldom expression. "I gotta find Valentino, attack him head on." I replied.

"Attack Valentino head on? Sounds like a good plan." She replied, still eating.

"No. Like, get the stone back so I can get the hell outta here. I've spent about six days out here, and that's long enough for me." I responded.

"Well, if you're gonna attack Valentino head on... You gotta learn how to fight better." She told me.

I raised a brow at her. "Fight better? How so?" I asked her.

"Your techniques are REALLY sloppy. You've almost died on two occasions now. And I doubt Valentino's gonna go easy on you." She said with her grin.

I rubbed my head. "Maybe you're right..." I said, following a sigh. I then looked up at her. "So, what are you implying?" I asked her.

"A little spar wouldn't hurt..." She replied.

"A spar. Right! But, I don't really feel comfortable hitting a girl though..." I replied.

"Aw, don't be such a pussy!" She teased me.

I shook my head and snapped out of it. "You know what, fine. I'll spar with you. Only if it gets me the skills I need. We wouldn't wanna face Valentino in scrubs then, eh?" I told her.

"Kick-ass! I'll go get dressed. Meet me on the rooftop, Newbie. I'll be right up..." She said, hopping to her room.

I then rubbed my head as I walked towards the door. I stepped out and went towards the elevator. My thoughts started racing as I went down the halls. 'If I wanna go up against Valentino, I'm gonna have to check my skill set...' I thought to myself.

(Time-Skip)

Cherri and I got on to the rooftop, ready for the little sparing match we were gonna have. We stretched out our arms to warm ourselves up. Never go into any physical activity with warming up first. I wouldn't want to pull something mid-fight. That'd be awkward.

Cherri narrowed her unibrow and grinned at me. "You ready to get this started?" She asked rather seductively, putting her hands on her hips.

"Ready!" I exclaimed.

Cherri then dashed at me, suddenly. She then jumped up in the air and came down at me with a forceful kick. I then dodged it, by moving backwards and Cherri came at me with a fury of punches. All of which, I could avoid quite well. She then came at me with a kick, following a chop. I blocked it and tried to go for an uppercut. She then did a back handspring to dodge my punch.

She got back on her feet and went back into her fighting stance. I came at her with a chop to the right, and a kick to the left. She dodged those two attacks, then caught me off guard by sweeping my leg. I fell down and Cherri put her got on my chest.

She looked at me with a smile. "You got a lot to learn, Newbie..." She said, smugly.

In that second, I caught her off guard by grabbing her opposite leg and pulling it. She then fell down and I was now the one dominating. I then gripped her hands down and looked at her with a glare. She then looked up at me with a grin and turned her head away. "Ooh... Nice start!" She teased.

That caused be to blush and I let go of her hands. She then did the kip-up and dusted herself off. I then got up and held my arm. "Huh. Not bad. But you're forget one important aspect..." She said.

I looked at her with a brow raised. "And what's that exactly?" I asked her.

"The element of surprise." She said, before throwing a bunch of glitter pellets on the ground. That caused me to moved back slightly and spit out a bunch of pink glitter. I had my hand over my mouth to stop myself from inhaling anymore.

I didn't even notice Cherri cheap shotting me from behind. She kicked me in the back causing me to yelp slightly and fall over. Cherri stood there with her arms on her hips, giving me a warm smile.

I then got up and cracked my back. I then looked at her with one eye closed. "Arugh... Nice one..." I said, sarcastically.

She then laughed, still keeping her confident composer. "See? It still flusters me that people forget to check their backs." She said with a grin.

"With you... I always do." I said, walking back to the elevator.

Cherri then began to follow me back. She then let out a chuckle. "You should!" She teased, as we got into the elevator.

(Time-Skip)

We got back into Cherri's room after we done our training in town. I have to say, I've become quite efficient with my bomb throwing skills. I don't know why, but it almost seem natural for me.

I also picked up a newspaper with an advertisement concerning Valentino. It looked like he was throwing a party at one of his strip clubs. Since he's looking for me, I guess he won't suspect me coming to him. There was no other way to get that stone out of his hands other than by force.

So why hold back now?

I held the paper up to my face and inspected it. "Huh. Seems like Valentino's throwing a party." I said, walking to the couch.

"When? I wanna CRASH his little party!" She exclaimed, punching her hand.

"It's tomorrow night. So, I'll scope out the place while you get some rest. We have a stone to collect and a strawberry pimp to deal with." I replied.

I was determined to get that stone. Even if it meant killing for it. Hell, I was willing to try anything at this point. As long as I get home alive, that's all I care about.

So far, yet so close...
