At first, i had to sleep on a couch because they weren't fully ready for m

I'd wake up every night because of nightmares of my dad, from when he abused me, I thought he was gonna find me.

Some of my new friends, Gracin, Brett, and Bryan, would come and comfort me.

They would tell me that everything was gonna be ok and that he was gone for good.

*flashback of last night*

*screams!*

"LilyAnne! Wake up!" My friend Gracin yells shaking me.

"Wha-?!" I yell popping up.

"You were having a nightmare about your father..." He said with worry in his voice.

"C-can you stay wiff me?" I said like a baby.

"Sure, move over..." He said picking up the blanket.

I moved over and fell sleep. It turns out that when I'm with someone, I don't feel alone so I didn't have a nightmare.

*end of flashback*

I got off of the couch and went up to Brett's room.

*knock knock knock*

"Come in!" Brett yelled. I walked in and saw him doing the usual, listening to music and doodling in his notebook.

"I kiss the scars on her skin,
I still think you're beautiful and i don't wanna lose my bestfriend."

"I love this song." I said as I let the music take me over.

"I know, you must've told me like... a billion times..." He said smiling.

"I know..." I said as I sat on his bed. I've never been in his room before so, being myself, I was quite curious.

His room had black walls, posters all over, and all over one wall, white lettered lyrics.

His bed was kinda big, but what do I know, I sleep on a couch!

I leaned over Brett's shoulder to see what he was drawing.

"Stay Out." I whispered as I read along.

"It's going on my door." He said as he looked over at me.

"Oh, nice." I said nodding along ad hr talked.

"Wanna help me make signs on my door?" He asked as he flipped to a new page.

"Yeah!" I said as he tore out some paper for me.

I drew a skull that said No Trespassing! in bloody letters under it.

"Thanks." He said as he put tape on them and stuck them on his door.

"You're special, you know?" He said to me.

"No, I'm not." I said as I looked down at my feet.

"Yes, you are." He said as he sat next to me.

"How?" I asked, I felt like I was a nobody inside, like nobody could like a 'freak' like me.

"You know, it isn't everyday that a pretty lady runs away from a really abusive dad and runs through the orphanage doors." He said with a smile.

"Thanks..." I said as I pulled him into a hug. I love hugs.

That made me feel much better. After my dad, I thought that I could never feel special again, but now. I do!
