I walk out of my last hour and head to my locker. "Today wasn't that bad." I think to myself. "Tomorrow is a new day." I open my locker and grab my bag and sling it over my shoulder. I hold my journal close to me in my left hand and close my locker then lock it with my right.

I walk out the front doors and down the sidewalk and my phone buzzes. I check it and see it's a text from Vanessa. "Walk home or catch a ride with someone I'm not driving you home." I sigh and keep walking knowing that no one would give me a ride.

I turn down the street and Ben drives past with Brianna in the passengers seat. I keep walking hoping that they wouldn't notice me but Brianna turns her head and she smiles as she ssees me walk past.

"Hey Aliyah!" She calls and Ben stops the car finally noticing me. "Need a ride?" She asks.

I shake my head. "I can walk." I reply and keep walking. Ben turns the car around and drives it next to me as I walk.

"I can give you a ride. It's not a big deal." He says with a smile.

"I'm fine." I say not stopping or turn to look at him.

"Please? We could do a group study thing! We could go to Ben's house." Brianna offers.

"I need to get home." I say walking a bit faster.

"Why?" Brianna asks and i sense she was curious but I still got a little defensive.

"Because." I snap.

"Oh..." She says and I can tell that she's a little taken back. I don't care at all and cross the street still not turning to face them.

"Come on Bri." Ben says. "I need to get home and she obviously doesn't want a ride."

"Alright." Brianna sighs. "Bye Aliyah!" She calls as Ben drives off. I sigh in relief and keep walking my pace quickening.

I walk into my house and hear Vanessa running around upstairs. "I'm home!" I call. She doesn't respond but I know she heard me.

I walk into the kitchen and set my bag on the table. I sit down and pull out my books to start on my homework. About halfway through my calculus I make myself a snack and cheek my phone. I had spent an hour on homework so far and I still had a lot more to do. I sigh and start on my calculus again.

As i start on my English homework Vanessa walks downstairs. "I saw you talking to a boy today. Does he have a girlfriend?" She asks.

I blush fiercely and look down. My hair covers my face so she doesn't see me blushing. "Yes actually he does and his name is Ben. His girlfriend's name is Brianna." I say pretending to be working on my english.

"Oh so are you going to ask him out?" She asks obviously trying to get on my nerves. And the bad thing was that it was working.

"I just said he has a girlfriend! And why would I ask him out?" I say glaring at her.

"Uh-huh, sure." She says and start getting stuff out for tea.

"I can't do this with you." I say standing up. "I'm going to my room." I grab my bag and walk out of the kitchen and upstairs to my room.
