"Sorry... I couldn't hold back," Freddie chuckles. I clear my throat and sit up, as my knees come to my chest, I look at him. He sighs and meets my gaze, asking, "So, are we like... anything?" I look around for a few seconds, trying to think, before softly saying, "I was thinking maybe we could just keep it chill?" He quickly responds with enthusiasm, "Oh yes, I was hoping you'd say that." I smile and laugh awkwardly, teasingly asking, "Why? You don't want anything more with me?" he has a serious tone as he says, "No, I just like to have sex with multiple girls... you're not the only one, you know..." I laugh, thinking he's joking, only to realize he's dead serious with his straight face and bored eyes. With a smirk, I reply, "Do you finish in less than five seconds with them too, or can you just not control yourself around me?" His face turns a light shade of pink as he purses his lips, "No one's gonna want you, you know that? Maybe just for sex, but your looks are the only thing going for you." I scoff, wondering what happened to the sweet, gentle boy he just was when he came over. "Well, no one's gonna want you either, especially if you fuck like that," I giggle slightly. His reaction surprises me as he gets up, grabs his phone, and starts walking out. Damn, boys can really change up. I groan and bury my head into my pillow.

time skip - a few days later

I'm in class, super bored, twirling my pen while the teacher waffles on about who knows what. Finally, the bell rings – YES, weekend time! I speed out, and my friends call out, "Hey, Alex!" I turn with a grin, "Hey, girls," and join them

"So, you coming to tomorrow night's party?" Emily asks, all excited.

"Oh, Henry's party?"

"Yep! Come on, girl, you need a break, distract yourself from, you know who," Tess suggests, looking around and then whispering, "Freddie."

"What? Freddie? Oh, right..." I glance down. Tess notices my reaction. "Are you even thinking about Freddie?" Tess questions.

"Are you thinking about who I think you're thinking about?" Emily adds. I smile innocently at them. They both groan

"You're just stuck on him because he's better than Freddie in bed," Tess bluntly says.

"You need to find someone else. You might think there's no one better than Tom, but trust me, there is," Emily advises.

I roll my eyes. "You guys are being ridiculous, okay? I'm not even thinking about Tom." I sigh. "Fine, I'm coming, alright?" They look at me, grinning. "Okay, girl, whatever you say," they laugh. I roll my eyes and head home, ready for the weekend.

As I step into my house, I hear Caleb talking to someone on the phone. I shut the door behind me, I drop my bag and kick off my shoes, making my way to the kitchen for some orange juice. I try to listen to Caleb's conversation, but it's all a blur.

Finally, Caleb hangs up, grinning at me. "Hey," he says, mischief in his eyes. I glance up from my juice, asking, "What's up?"

"Well, you remember my birthday, right? The party at our place?" I nod. "Well, that wasn't enough. I've planned a trip for us."

My eyes light up. "Seriously?" I beam.

"Mhm, and guess what?" he teases. I tilt my head, eagerly awaiting the news. "We're leaving tomorrow night," he says with an even wider smile.

"What? Tomorrow night?" I exclaim in shock. "Oh my gosh, I need to pack!"

Caleb chuckles, "It's gonna be great, just imagine, Alex – beautiful, crystal-clear beaches, that Greek sun giving you a tan that's out of this world."

"Greece?" I say in awe. "I've always wanted to go to Greece."

"Yeah, I know," he grins.

I smile "This is so good; I feel like we've barely had quality time, just the two of us."

I sip my orange juice, soaking in the excitement. Then, he responds. "Oh, um, remember that date I went on? Maddie? Well, I really like her, and turns out she's coming too."

"Wow, were already going on a trip with her? Well, good for you, I guess," I say with excitement. "I haven't even met her."

He laughs and shrugs "yeah well..." he smiles to himself. "Oh, and also Tom, of course. He's gonna be coming along."

"What?" My eyes widen, I feel my cheeks flushing. "Why?" I ask in annoyance.

"Come on, don't be like that, Alex. He's helped us all these years; of course, he's coming," Caleb explains.

"I can't come Caleb. You know we don't get along," I say, turning my back to put my cup in the sink. Suddenly, a deep voice interrupts, "You're coming," a demanding tone that freezes me in place.

I slowly turn around to see Tom standing there, arms crossed, a straight expression on his face. I look up at him, speechless. "What he said," Caleb chimes in, breaking the tension. Caleb walks up to me, he adds, "It's gonna be great; now, you better go start packing," with a reassuring smile.
