Chapter Five
#EY05"The deliberation for the second semester in each year level will be held two days from now. We were advised to announce first the class ranking in our respective advisory classes. Are you excited?"
"Yes, ma'am!"
"Hala, sana mas tumaas yung average ko ngayon."
"Sana kasali pa rin."
My classmates sounded excited with their murmurs around me. However, what only excites me is the deliberation that will happen a few days from now. Hindi sa pagiging mayabang, pero alam ko nang ako ang highest rank sa section namin and probably in our strand too. What I want to know is my standing in the overall grade 11.
"Tangina, galing talaga."
"Shet."
"Grabeng utak 'yan, blessed na blessed."
Those are some of the reactions from my classmates when our adviser flashed my general average for the semester. With highest honors (98.3%). I needed very little points for it to be rounded off and become 99.
I exhaled deeply as Alpas' possible general average crossed my mind. He could have it. He could reach the percentage of 99 and stay on the highest rank.
I had a subtle smile when I walked in front and got the certificate from our adviser. She was so happy and gave me a proud smile. I just hope my smile appeared genuine in front of her eyes.
Nagkasalubong kami at agad niya akong nilapitan.
"What?"
He let it pass. "Saan punta mo?"
"You're asking because?"
"Kakain kang lunch?"
"Yes. I'm with Aldiera. "Anything else you wanna know?"
A group of varsity players wearing similar types of clothes. Jersey shorts, playing shoes, and if not jersey tops, varsity jackets.
"Lozano!" One of them called him.
Alpas turned around to see them. That move revealed me to them. I don't like where this is going.
"Samgyup kami! Sama ka?"
Alpas looked back at me. I raised a brow and didn't speak. "Next time na lang."
Another smile formed on each of their faces. "Sige, boss. Galingan mo ah?"
Kumunot ang noo ko. Galingan saan? I gave them a glare when they finally left. I hate men. I just hate their presence. They look creepy and annoying at the same time!
He smirked and gave me a pinch on my cheeks. Agad kong tinaboy ang kamay niya dahil doon.
