Chapter 18
Back To Business

Today was the next morning, Mark had the day off to stay with you, as of now, you both stood in the kitchen of your appartment, discussing plans going forward.

"With that amazing acting of yours, I'm hoping they'll deal with Strahm." Mark says as he sits at your dining table, sipping his coffee.

"My acting was pretty impressive wasn't it? Made it seem like I was terrified of the guy." You laugh as you speak. "He doesn't scare me." He smirks at your statement.

"Being fearless suits you. Makes you look badass." He chuckles, winking afterwards.

"Wow, didn't think I was badass before? Wow, just wow Mark." You laughed with him, closing the fridge after retrieving your usual morning juice. He wasn't wrong, your acting was pretty impressive. You made Erickson believe you was frightened, and now terrified of leaving your home on your own again, claiming Strahm destroyed the outside confidence you worked so hard to rebuild after your Jigsaw Trap. You as well be a actress at this point. "What do we do if he isn't dealt with by the police?"

"Well. I can use our next series of tests to our advantage."

"Oh yeah, the house fire people." Mark nods

"It's the last request John gave me, to my knowledge there's no more, I can try to frame Strahm. It'll work wonderfully, to the departments knowledge, he's one of the few who actually knew all those people were involved."

"Smart, I like it."

"We'll start today, the Traps are already built, John did it a while back. We'll go over and check everything, then the test itself starts tomorrow."

"Got it. Where do you guys get all these locations?"

"Abandoned buildings, usually factories and warehouses, you'd be surprised how many there are, and you'd be surprised how little the police and fbi pay attention to them. The only non abandoned building was John's factory. The one your used to being in, that one John actually owned beforehand."

"Hm. Interesting."

"I guess you can call it that?"Marks phone starts to ring, he picks up his phone looking at the contact. "It's Erickson." He answers it, "Erickson?"

"Hi, Detective Hoffman. Just wanted to update you about Strahm." Mark looks at you, you fold your arms."

"Go on?"

"I'm sorry, Hoffman. There wasn't enough evidence to arrest him that he did infact kidnap [Y/N]."

"What? Not enough evidence? You did everything, right?"

"Yep, went to the location to investigate, there was nothing. The CCTV was not operating, still. And Strahms story just, doesn't make sense. He keeps spouting nonsense about her being involved with Jigsaw."

"So what's happened?" Ericksons sighed on the other side of the phone.

"We've had to release him, he's been warned that if there's another report regarding him, he will be arrested, I've sent him away with the number to a local therapist, whether he takes my advice or not I don't know, but I hope he does." Mark hums.

"Somethings not right with him, so I hope he does."

"I'm sorry we couldn't do much more, [Y/N] sounded very distressed in her report." Mark looks at you again smiling, your little proformance worked.

"She is, I know how long it took her to find the confidence to leave the house on her own, and it's all come crashing down."

"I can't apologise enough, Hoffman. Take the day off, I hope she's better soon."

"Thanks Erickson, I'll see you tomorrow." He ends the call."We start tonight." You nod.

"Right." He pauses for a moment.

"Actually, I have a better idea."

"Oh?" You walk closer to him.

"The tests start as normal, it will still look as though Strahm set it up. But I guarantee he will follow us. I have a plan to officially get rid of him, and maybe even frame him." You smile at eachother.

You had both spent the night making sure the location of the new series of tests was ready, as of now you was bringing in the final person, a blonde woman. You wheeled her in in a wheelbarrow as Mark was adjusting the collars of the others. "Last one." You say, getting Marks attention, you still wore your cloak. You dump her out of the wheelbarrow, dragging her to her spot so Mark can attach the collar. He finished with the others and moved onto her. As he adjusted the collar you looked around the room, wondering slightly. "This tests a bit easy, don't you think."

"It'll only be easy if they actually work together." The click of the collar being attached was heard. Mark stood up, doing a last quick look at all the subjects. "Which I doubt they will."

"Right." You look into the glass boxes at the keys. "How'd John set up all of this without it being detected?" Mark chuckled.

"Like I said, you'd be surprised how little the police care about abandoned buildings. Come on, let's get out of here before the anesthesia wares out." You nod, following him to leave the room, setting-up each door and timer as you both left each room, finally reaching the end, where all the monitors sat, the miniature piece of the series of tests and all the police files. You look at the monitors, noticing someone was sat differently to the mini piece. You changed it so they matched, Mark chuckling at you. "Interesting attention to detail, [Y/N]. Even with one eye."

"Hey."

"What? It's impressive. Now let's go." You both leave the building. You both get into Marks car, on the way to your next location. Which turned out to be a abandoned Home, which John turned to look as though it was a used home, Mark claimed this has held many traps (cough bathroom trap) in the basement, now it'll hold Strahms test. You both park up, and walk in, heading to the basement. It was a long walk, but you both finally reached the room. "This is something I've been working on, but I never exactly has a use for it. Until now." He opened the metal door. Showing you a almost empty room, holding nothing but a glass box, big enough for a human to fit in, with broken glass on the inside.

You both do the tests, making sure it's working correctly, once it was all confirmed to be working, you both set up the tape, then leave the room and building to hop in the car, and start the game of cat and mouse. You both buckle your seat belts, you look at eachother, Mark pulls out Strahms phone he collected from the evidence boxes a couple days before. "Let the games begin?" You say, a smile growing across your face.

"Let the games begin."
