So, guys. Dunno if you've heard, but Nintendo is not releasing a new Kirby game this year. Hopefully that's just 'cause they didn't have one planned, but quite a few rumors had been flying around that there would be one announced, some from actual Nintendo bigwigs, and now there's not gonna be one. So, again, hopefully this isn't the fault of the facepalm-inducing Rainbow Curse, but who knows.
Anyway, today was really not a great day for me. But you know what? For whatever reason, the no-new-Kirby-game thing gave me a whole new source of motivation to finish this series in the most mind-blowingly, epicly, amazingly, plot-twistingly way possible.
So, yeah... The end is definitely drawing closer, as the title above states. Don't worry too hard yet; we've still got at least ten chapters left, probably more. I honestly wouldn't be too terribly surprised if this book ends up creeping close to forty chapters. That's not a guarantee, but stranger things have happened. And also, you guys know how slow updates are now... It'll probably be at least a good part of the way through July before we finish, if not later.
Gah, I want the book to be done so you guys have the whole story, but at the same time, I don't... Mlargh... Anyway, I know I'd said a couple of times in the not-so-terribly-distant past that Book 7 wasn't for-sure the last HoD book, but now I'm officially announcing that it is. There might eventually be a spin-off or something about the next generation of heroes, and there's definitely going to be at least one special short story after the main series (if you guys want it when we get that far), but once I finish this book (and hopefully also An Extraordinary Meeting of Ladies and Gentlemen), my fanfic career will probably be over. I really don't want it to be, but a lot of well-meaning people in my life are telling me that I basically need to grow up and start writing 'real' stories and making money, and I know that, at least to some extent, they're probably right.
Aw, Shotzo it, I could write Nintendo stories forever, pretty much... If only...
Anyways... Yeah. We're getting ever-closer to the end of this amazing, wondrous, beautiful ride that has really been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. But, even though I'm actually sitting here in tears as I write this, even though it's not actually the end yet, I guess I am a bit optimistic in some ways. I mean, after all... I'm gonna have the basic draft of a whole book series written and done by the time I'm 18. Sure, it kinda needs a lot of polishing in places, something I sadly probably won't be able to give it... But it'll still be here, something I'll have created from beginning to end. And according to a lot of people, since it's fanfic, it doesn't count. But it counts to me. And it counts to you guys. And if I've already done this... Well, who's to say what lies ahead?
Thanks, guys. For your votes, for your comments, for seemingly constantly increasing in number, for your friendship, and for making a nobody from nowhere feel special. God bless you all.
Well, enough being sappy... Let's get this show on the road, shall we?
Meta Knight's POV:
Well, as far as I can tell, coming to Star World was entirely a waste of time. All we seem to have succeeded in doing is both getting some friends of ours in serious trouble, and having someone be rather unkind to Sakura, which, as I stated earlier, was not anywhere near pleasing to me. Thankfully, we are now back safely on the Lor Starcutter, where everyone else is also alive and well, and where I was finally given my mask back. Not so thankfully, we now have Clerk here with us again.
As of now, we have not yet flown too very far from Star World. Magolor noticed something amiss with the hyperdrive, and, therefore, is currently employing Bandana Dee's help in repairing it. While I know part of the problem is how much we have been pushing the ship lately, flying here and there and back again all over the Galaxy, I cannot help but feel rather annoyed that it picked now to have an issue. Of course, it's not like I can really talk, seeing as how my ship constantly has problems far worse than this. However, the sooner we get out of what is now enemy airspace, the sooner we can all relax an infinitesimal bit.
